Could do that, not that he would likely take it to heart. How many times has that been tried with characters like him for it to not stick the first time. Even amongst species where casually ending a life in self-defense or the defense of another isn't completely frowned upon.
I mean, he did kill a guy, so it’s understandable to have a lot of remorse and terrible after feelings about it…. Even people who may be justified in defending their own lives still have to contend with feelings of remorse for their actions and guilt. Taking a man’s life is not such an easy thing to carry as a burden on your soul. His practicing of self control, to prevent accidents in the future, is his form of atonement for his own personal guilt. It shows his moral truth.. hopefully he will forgive himself one day. I would bet he can (esp with his nice gf who thinks he’s awesome lol - actually, I went back to page 281 just now, and she does tell him “you didn’t do anything wrong”!!! Sweet Nell <3)
I'm incredibly curious of how the baxxid sexual identities work, do they have true male and female counterparts given all of them have been strictly male and female? I love these critters very much and am happy to see Kalgkur will now be potentially joining Kass for the time being
The appear to have no dimorphism to human perception. Perhaps there is something they can sense. We've not seen any of them exhibit gender roles though, aside from one who has a fascination with human culture to the point of mimicry. I get the impression that they simply don't care: They have sex, but not gender. It just makes no difference to them until the time has come to plan reproduction. We only hear their language in translation, it might not even have any gendered pronouns.

Howdy OOPsers! I'm here to remind you once again that there's a place called "Top Web Comics" https://www.topwebcomics.com/?home=3 that compiles comics from various places. There's a bunch of cool stuff there. They have monthly votes, so you can support OOPs there. You can vote once a day per device, so your PC, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.
I've noticed that you can sometimes even get in extra votes from different IP addresses, or if you're disconnected from your IP and open up again later.
It closed out last monthat 1135 votes and 44th place. It's currently at 1039 votes and 57th place. The highest it's reached is 36th place, and the top vote getters seem to end up with something close to 20,000 votes.

I still don't trust the Baron/Lord but really am finding some interest in the story overall. Feels like a lot of manipulative governing bodies exploiting the unwanted of their common folk who are our heroes. This theme even goes back to the first pages with the insect lady being shunned.
