This page supports all xbox platforms (360, ONE). This is a xbox community page for all xbox users to talk and get release updates. Also, watch out for the mod's "Game Of The Year" journal where we look back on the current year and talk about the games released that year that we enjoyed the most.

GAME OF THE YEAR 2017

GAME OF THE YEAR 2017
We all hope you all had a great Christmas/holiday season. Anyway, what were we playing over this year? Like last year, if a mod can't chose between two titles for GOTY we will be giving out our choice for honorable mention.
RESIDENT EVIL 7: BIOHAZARD
"For me 2017 will be a year of disappointments. In fact, the only game I showed interest in was "Mass Effect: Andromeda," however after watching some let's play videos on YouTube the interest vanished. It was pretty much the same all across the board. I didn't care about "C.O.D. W.W.2" nor "Wolfenstein." "South Park: Fractured But Whole" made me smile, but it looked nowehere as good as "Stick Of Truth." In fact, there were three games I played for Xbox this year; W.W.E. 2K18, Super Lucky's Tale and Resident Evil 7, and I wasn't prepared to give W.W.E. 2K18 my game of the year. Let's face it, the W.W.E. games are in the same category as N.B.A. 2K or the E.A. Sports Madden series. You're basically paying for a roster update and an updated Wrestlemania stage. Super Lucky's Tale I only heard about in October and playing it was a reminder of how long it's been since I played a platformer. Meaning I constantly fell off platforms and fell down pits constantly and nothing causes more frustration when you get the 4 leaf clover after spelling out Lucky and only to die seconds afterward. "Oh! You have no lives left, you must start the game world over again!" So, I came to R.E. 7 and I thought, 'I'll give it a go and see how I get along.' And FUCK ME, WHAT A DISTURBINGLY ABSORBING EXPERIENCE IT WAS!!! Within the first hour I got influences from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "Blair Witch Project," "Saw," "Hostel," "The Exorcist" and "House By The Cemetery." One of the big changes is the perspective has changed from third person to first person (obviously done for the V.R. market) and this doesn't break the immersion, in fact I found it makes it more immersive. With a plot setup that reminded me of "Silent Hill 2" and coupled with a dark, opressive feeling of forboding that stays throughout the experience I am happy to announce that Capcom have made the best Resident Evil game since "R.E. 4." Now all we have to do is wait for them to cock it up in R.E. 8, where Ethan Winters teams up with Claire Redfield to rescue Leon Kennedy from the ressurrected Osmund Saddler. Finally, I would like to end this review with a confession; Last summer I got myself a gaming P.C."
FORTNIGHT
"Fortnite is a seriously fun co-op experience that most will want to spend hours playing. There’s plenty of content, the gunplay is satisfying, and it runs well on the hardware as long as you’re comfortable playing at 30 FPS. I would love to see models added to the first-person viewpoint in the future, but even without that you’re still left with an impressive and expansive game comparable to the Horde mode from Gears of War that I’ve always loved. Based on this alone, I’d say Fortnite is well worth your time."
