Ever since she founded the Apostles, Oblivia has recruited a vast array of different warriors from different cultures and organizations. So, recruiting strong and noble warriors from different clans should not be surprising as there are a myriad of different ones throughout the world. Nuova is a good example of this as she is easily one of the strongest of her clan; but of course, this wasn’t always the case.

Centuries prior, a union between an old warlord and enlightened monk would form, with the duo forming the respective Shan Lao and Tainkong clans. From this union, a peaceful pact would be formed due to the bond the warlord and monk shared; with the monk establishing his clan in the golden valley and the warlord establishing his in the Taiyang mountains. Due to its founder’s military knowledge and guidance from his best friend, the Shan Lao clan developed over the centuries with many ceremonies and customs established and maintained throughout generations. One such custom is the teaching and cultivating of their “Dragon’s Pride” martial arts as well as the nurturing of strength and power. As many have learned to use these martial arts and due to dragons being the majority of the populace, there are specific skills that are common; such as the ability to breath fire!

When she younger, Nuova had difficulty performing this seemingly natural feat. Although Nuova retains much of her mountain dragon characteristics from her father; her mother’s western dragon side somewhat interfered with this ability to spit flames as effectively as the other clan members. Of course, such difficulties disheartened Nuova as she wished to be seen as a strong member similar to her father and grandfather. Even when training to perform such a rudimentary task, Nuova could only manage to breath black smoke. It wasn’t until receiving training from her grandfather and learning of the concept of “Blaze of Passion” that Nuova managed to spit fire, albeit only in small doses. However, this seemingly small victory caused Nuova’s passion to burn brightly; as she sought to improve her and nurture her natural abilities so she could push them to their limits. From this rigorous training and her increasing passion, Nuova managed to push her ability to breath fire past what other experienced fighters of her clan could muster; turning her once struggling embers into a raging inferno that could incinerate those unfortunate enough to be in their path. Not only this, but Nuova even managed to master all forms of the martial arts that her clan had to offer, including ones that would be considered “too dangerous” even for veterans.

Ever since, Nuova has effectively lived by the philosophy taught to her by her grandfather and it has been the reason why she is not only one of the strongest members of her clan, treasured warrior of Alsara’s forces, and a trusted Apostle! *TRIVIA: Nuova’s sparra unlocked when she was younger with the only indication being the intensity and color of her natural fire becoming crimson, but due to how strong her flames were prior she barely noticed it.
