If you wish to know about the MALAKAS Project, go to Timothy Soro's entry here for more info about the project.
NOTE: These characters are lore-wise English, and are in no relation to their Disney/New Yorker counterparts. Although these characters are made under Saban Enterntainment with details loosely derived from the 1838 novel, their lore here is a bit expanded with the same novel in order to build up to match the Modern Day present.
Description:
Orion Fleming Brownlow the dog, Jeremiah Dawkins the rabbit and Camomile Bates the pig all descended from respected ancestors in their time.
Orion's ancestor Oliver Twist was once accidentally separated from his mother and went through a lot of trouble just to be able to reunite with her, only for her to pass away a year. This would yet again give him another heaps until he was able to be legally adopted by some fine gentleman named Mr. Brownlow. The said gentleman just so happened to be a well-respected and well-off doctor who frequented his medical visits to the West Indies on a seasonal basis, that Oliver began joining and assisting him on his adopted father's duty. Years later, Oliver would become yet another doctor much worthy of respect and new generations after him would lead to the foundation of the Brownlow Medical Foundation, whose dozen of offices were nowadays stationed in the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Jeremiah's ancestor Jack Dawkins went by the name "Artful Dodger", who was once a proactive leader of child criminals on the streets of London. He was the one who (alongside Charley Bates) helped Oliver find his lost mother. Few months after the passing of Oliver's mother, Jack would eventually be arrested for stealing a silver snuff box and then exiled to a penal colony in Australia, doomed for the rest of his life. Despite that, Jack proved clever enough to use his tricks to make his life a bit easier, which ironically involved helping other convicts in need. Years of such deeds had reached a governor who then recognized his skills and had him assigned as a surgeon for the Royal Navy. After an honorable discharge, he would make a honest living and fall in love with another surgeon, who was actually the said governor's daughter.
Camomile's ancestor Charley Bates used to work alongside with his closest friend Jack as child criminals, but on the day that Jack was fatefully arrested for theft, he was left distressed, struggling to make another pickpocket once again. Unfortunately, that paled in comparison to what would haunt him for the rest of his life, witnessing the murder of his fellow thief Nancy at the hands of a vicious criminal named William Sikes. Such a trauma would eventually drive him to leave London as far away as possible and settle for a humbler work in a rural country of Northamptonshire. Being a farmhand was much a struggle, but with his focus set in, he would find joy in his duty. Charley would become a mature yet merry shepherd who remained in Northamptonshire alongside with his new wife, the daughter of the previous shepherd.
Generations passed on until the end of the second World War, where descendants of Jack and Charley would have an annual reunion in Northamptonshire, but had no way to contact the Brownlows. 2024 was the year where the Dawkins and Bates would be able to reunite with the Brownlows, but this time another reunion took place in Kingston, Jamaica, and it was the three of their young and current generation that somehow managed to resemble their original counterparts. 2024 was however also the time that the Brownlows became increasingly suspicious about one phenomenon suspected in California.
Back in Kingston, the Brownlows began receiving many patients whose injuries came from big and muscular criminals, who were now plagueing the streets. Orion, despite being a medical college student, led the family investigation and managed to find the source of this potentially bigger issue, the MALAKAS Project in California. Sensing the connections between that, the buffed-up criminals appearing across the Caribbean and crimes spiking regionwide, this had led the Brownlows to believe that those criminals somehow took advantage of that project and returned home just to weaken opposition and commit more crimes uninterrupted. Two months after the 2024 reunion, Orion received direct assistance from Jeremiah and Camomile only, as the rest of their families were busy with their own matters at home at the moment.
Few days later, the three reached Santo Tomas, California and ventured out into a single cavern at the bottom of Mt. Tingganda via a local informant. Without detection, the three managed to reach up into the mountain base, only to find nearly a hundred of Recruits in either their original bodies or bodybuilder physique, wearing nothing but underwear/garments. Feeling overwhelmed at the very sight, they quietly walked down the same cavern to escape the mountain base, only to get caught by the project supervisor Christopher North, who had been suspicious of their informant quite recently. Not recognizing the three, Chris smugly pinned Camomile and Orion, but Jeremiah quickly ran past him into the groves, except that the cavern entrance was entirely surrounded by a small deep lake. That didn't bother Jeremiah, who instead tried to hop above water, only to get smothered by the arms of a Super Soldier shark, who so happened to be one of the most hardened thugs in Kingston, named Arnold Coralpie. What didn't help make the three defenseless Brits better was the fact that they were surrounded by a dozen Super Soldier Caribbean criminals.
Orion, Jeremiah and Camomile would be brought in and interrogated by Chris, who simply wanted to know how the former three got in without even signing in for the project. After hearing their situation, Chris explained to them that many criminals from Caribbean had been behaving more civilly, ever since a vandal, an arsonist and a serial killer from Linstead got into a brutal fight with each other and got dishonorably discharged as Soldiers back in late 2020. On a legal basis, no Caribbean criminal would ever be charged in the USA for past crimes committed back in their home region, as long as they remained civil, lest they be extradited back there. However, Chris offered the three to join the MALAKAS Project for free, in that way they could clear the crime-ridden streets across Jamaica by themselves, but in return, Chris would want to expand the project operations into the Caribbean through one of the mountains in central Jamaica. The MALAKAS Project had so far expanded its operations into Northern Mexico, Central Thailand, Northwestern USA, and Southern Germany in span of almost four years. Should the three Brits decline his generous offer, Chris would have his relative bring them back to Kingston immediately, but that would risk more direct harrassment from muscularized criminals residing there. Anxious and left with no better option, the three accepted the offer, but not without requesting for a phone call with their parents.
For few months, the three Brits would undergo training with direct assistance from Chris, who made seriously sure of no encounter between the former three and the Caribbean criminals to occur. Once satisfied up until they reached for the Juggernaut ability, they were honorably discharged and flew back to Kingston. Their tearful parents were shocked and astonished to see significant changes in them, for they seemed almost no different from Super Soldier criminals that their families and other citizens alike would have to get used to, but the three confidently assured that the criminal scum would eventually be wiped away, though they would need a permission from the Jamaican government, as well as the local police.
