BEHOLD the boy man! Arpeggio Plumeworth Junior, all grown up!
I came up with Arpeggio Jr. in 2010, within the year after I developed a crush on Arpeggio. However, I hadn’t given much thought to him as adult til the past few years; I just knew he’d definitely pursue a criminal career. Currently, I’m on my fourth playthrough of Red Dead Redemption II, and it gave me the idea of making Arpeggio Jr. a modern outlaw, especially since I’ve had the idea for the longest time that Arpeggio Jr. wouldn’t really want to assume leadership of the Klaww Gang in his adulthood—that role is eventually taken by his younger sister, Solfege (girl boss YAS!)—and find his mother’s thieving lifestyle more appealing. He also grows up with a fascination for stories and media set in the American Old West, but his style of dress is derived from that worn by British gangs of the late 19th century-early 20th century (he is British, after all).
Background Info:
Full Name: Arpeggio Plumeworth Junior
D.o.B.: May 2nd, 2002
Gender: Male (he/him)
Species: Hybrid avian — Golden macaw (Ara aureus)* X Peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus)
Nationality: British
Relationships:
-Arpeggio Plumeworth and Samantha Falco-Plumeworth (parents)
-Solfege Plumeworth (sister)
-Charles and Elizabeth Falco (maternal grandparents)
-Dylan and Ruby Falco (uncle and aunt)
-Forte and Harper Plumeworth (paternal grandparents)
Misc. Background Info:
-His pet roe deer, Raphael (named after the Italian Renaissance artist), serves as his trusty steed. Arpeggio Jr. and his mother rescued the buck as a fawn, who was orphaned after one of Arpeggio’s guards shot and killed his mother when she was mistaken for an intruder. Samantha and her son nursed the fawn back to health, who then bonded with Arpeggio Jr. and remained as his companion animal. Though Arpeggio Jr. is capable of flight, he finds Raphael useful for helping him carry off stolen goods that are too heavy/awkward to make off with on the wing.
-Being born and raised in England, he primarily speaks with an English accent. However, as his mother is American from the northeast U.S., he speaks certain words/phrases picked up from her in a vague northeast U.S. accent that is most comparable to a Boston accent. He’s also capable of speaking purely with a northeast U.S. accent, but really only does so for deceptive reasons.
-He lives a vagrant lifestyle, not having an actual home except for a small blimp designed by his father. Though Arpeggio Jr. doesn’t consider himself to be a machinist (and certainly not to the caliber of his father), he possesses enough knowledge to maintain his personal aircraft.
-Though he mainly devises and executes his own jobs, he still does work for the Klaww Gang as its thief and saboteur and considers himself a member, which was his mother Samantha’s role in the gang before her marriage to Arpeggio. He is also a member by blood of the Shadow Order, as he is a descendant of the Falco lineage (maternal side), who has headed the North American faction of the order since the 17th century.
-Like both his parents, Arpeggio Jr. has a socially acceptable occupation that is being a writer. He writes and publishes crime novellas based on his personal life and his adventures, as well as those of his family—names and certain other details significantly altered, of course.
-He goes by an alias “Gio Falco” in the field. This is also the name law enforcement entities know him by, though information on him (fortunately) remains quite scarce.
-His heterochromia makes him rather identifiable. When pulling off jobs during daylight and/or that require him to closely and directly interact with an adversary, he wears brown-colored eye contacts.
-Despite his affinity of the American western outlaw aesthetic, he doesn’t have a gun because he does not believe in using guns—he hates them, actually. He believes that a true master thief does not need a weapon such as a gun anyway, he finds they cause unnecessary damage and/or noise that tends to hinder heists.
-Arpeggio Jr. shares his mother’s love for ferals (non-anthro/regular animals in the Sly Cooper universe). It’s implied that he’s a “feral whisperer” of sorts, often charming animals owned by his enemies (like guard dogs and horses) to aid him in his heists. This works especially if said ferals are mistreated by their owners, which Arpeggio Jr. will ensure to rescue or free them.
-Though he physically resembles a golden macaw*, his peregrine falcon side shines in his flying ability. He’s also capable of performing the famous peregrine dive, though his less than aerodynamic shape renders him unable to fall as quickly or smoothly as if pulled off by a full-blooded peregrine.
-Arpeggio Jr. is secretly ashamed that he’s not as similar to his father as he believes he ought to be, having been named after him. Though both his parents have assured him throughout his upbringing that the intent of his existence was not to be an heir to the Klaww Gang (as it was not founded by Arpeggio, who took over after the prior leader’s retirement), he fears that he’s somehow a disappointment to his father for not having as much of a passion for inventing and engineering and having even less of an interest in leading/overseeing a drug ring. Although Arpeggio Jr. is very proud of his father and his name, he doesn’t like being referred to as ‘Mr. Plumeworth’ for this reason.
