From what I can tell size changes alone would make anyone more threatening. Just feeling vulnerable all the time after having so many convenances makes you want to lash out.
As for the lashing out it could be from the lack of proper communication or the suppression of embarrassment. He might have lost some self control as well.

Reading again it seems that Vince shot off an attack first, but this seems to me to be some heavy mental side effects.
These two are getting some instinct issues, and Hector didn't get a slow change.
Not that them literally hurting each other is not a problem, but I think it is a complicated situation.

Interesting. They seemed to have turned into the Mon that represents them most mentally.
And yet, dispite the fight, they don't seem to be angry with each other. They understand each other still. It's just a hell of a change and struggles with new bodies, new brains, and personal drama.
Well written tf stories are some of the most interesting ones out there!

I don't really comment on artwork but I wanted to say I really like where this one is going. I know a lot of people are getting sad over this but its quite literally a developing story of an AU so I look forward to what will happen to both of them mentally and how it will affect their relationship. TF is more than the physical changes as the mental aspect keeps me on the edge of my set wondering how they will work this out. Keep up the awesome work.
The dialogue implies it is a typing instinct, on top of their personal drama (Hector being a 'Toxic and Combative' dickhead), and their interpersonal drama.
The sequence of events seems to be:
Hector changed and due to building anger issues and stress lashed out at Vince.
Vince reacted poorly due to the lashing out and a fairy type instinctive fear of poison.
Then a fight burst out and they literally fought out frustrations.
This scene is the post fight emotional emptiness which is where they can be honest and start a talk.
