Trey was a young man who lives in the Paldea region. While many would of course follow the obvious route of joining the Academy or becoming a Pokemon Trainer, he found his interests laid elsewhere. Indeed, he fancied himself a "Treasure Hunter", scouring the lands for adventure and the next big score! ...Or, at least, that's what he told people. In reality, he didn't really have much of a passion or immediate talent for Battles or Training, and was too unmotivated for his studies to get better at it or find anything else he wanted to invest his efforts into. In actuality, he flunked out of school (although he'd tell you he left of his own accord and didn't "need" it). Even his Treasure Hunting is in actuality more collecting scrap metal and trash he could turn in for money, barely scraping by on the day to day...

Unrelated to him (yet also soon to be very related to him), something strange was happening in the world of Pokemon. All across the regions, strange "lights" have been spotted in the sky. This wasn't like the Ultra Wormholes that formed in Alola a while back, or any sort of known or ever recorded event. There would just be short periods throughout the day where the sky would simply... be covered in a veil of color. This weather phenomena would come to be known as the "Aura Lights", and they were only becoming more frequent. Their true effect, however, would become known today.

Trey was on another morning of doing his Scrap Collecting when a shiny object caught his attention, buried almost completely in the ground. To his shock and glee, when he uncovered the object, he found what appeared to be a large, bright pink crystal, bigger than his hand! It looked a bit like those Crystals that formed around Paldea, but he'd never heard of one just being separate from those giant structures before! Surely this was a rare find, right?

So distracted was he by his treasure, he didn't notice the sky above him changing color, nor how the light seemed to particularly begin to focus around him, as if shining a spotlight. That light seemed to resonate with the Crystal in his hand, and he watched with ignorance and awe as it glowed brighter and brighter, until...

A surge of energy! Pink everywhere! The odd taste of metal and what he could only describe as glitter on his tongue as all over his body felt lighter and heavier and-- the weight on his back seemed to transfer into his hands, and-- his crystal, it was... changing? Wait, what was happening to his clothes? No, what was happening to HIM!?

Trey had evolved! Where once was a Human Male, now stood a humanoid Female Tinkaton! She stands in a Paldean field, overwhelmed, confused, and quickly embarrassed as it seems like everything she had on her person was used as material for the Hammer she now carried... She'll soon find out she was only one of the first wave of people afflicted by the Aura Lights... But what'll she do now?
