Do you like your old, washed up men grieving and reconciling with their past actions? Well, do I have just the story for you!
OHHHH BOY I think this is like. One of my best captions. Of all time. Nothing is topping this for awhile. I am so goddamn PROUD of this and implore you all to read it.
I had an idea looking through Brew’s toyhouse yesterday revolving around Thompson’s days he spent with Beatrice and Ozzy before the fight. I put so so much heart and soul into these characters, from their best to their worst moments. And in less than 1500 words. As much as I like making kink work, I think when I’m able to give these characters so much life that’s when it really gets fun and makes it memorable.
I also had trouble coming up with a title for this, with the other one I was thinking of being “The Morning.” However, I found it very basic, and thought that “Thompson and the Ceiling Fan” was interesting as it’s such a mundane thing coupled with an extremely heart-wrenching moment. The whole concept of “focusing on a mundane thing” too is derived partly from me, as when I get lost in thought, I always focus on something like the ceiling titles or, in this case, a ceiling fan, to reorganize my thoughts. Then again, that’s probably just a normal aspect of human nature, but I don’t know how to ask someone that without sounding weird haha.
This is probably my longest “Post notes” for a caption, but it is deserved in its entirety with how proud I am of it. Also do read through Brew’s Toyhouse, as this is very lore-driven by it!! With that being said, thank you again Brew for letting me write about your funny lil dudes!!!
