On Nov 19th 2006 The Wii came out in the US and I got it for my birthday on Nov 23rd same year. And even if I have the Wii and even Wii-U I never used the Virtual Console for two reasons ONE: I'm not a fan digital only and TWO: I already own the real games.

Ahh the Wii. When you think about it,the Wii controller is basically a newer version of the Power Glove. And it works about as well. If you're gonna base your console on a gimmick,make sure the gimmick works. Personally,I say make the best 300 dollar console you can,to stay in the "sweet spot" of being cheaper than a gaming PC while still being able to play a good game,and then add gimmicks. You know,all those fun little toys the PCs would never do.
On the whole,the Wii held it's own pretty well considering it's competition and I'd recommend getting one even now,just to play with the motion controls.
