Apparently somebody wanted to reply to this post, but instead of doing so here publicly, they created a new account and sent me a note. This note contained an unhinged and weirdly hostile "explanation" of the plot of this comic, stating that the conclusion includes Storm successfully getting some of Mis's underwear, before dovetailing into a rant about how the real, human world sucks and all trespassers of high school/higher ed places should be similarly turned into fuckslaves and get to knot the principal, and that I "know it, otherwise you never would have made your comment." They also explicitly hyperlinked to hurricandrake's FA profile twice, praising him for being a legend of the temple and "the greatest draakin in the world".

Now, assuming this wasn't just a baffling attempt at a troll or bizarre marketing for somebody's ego, I have a five-point response:

1) The fact you tried to make this an anonymous, private conversation suggests at least some part of you knows this was not an appropriate response. I'm responding publicly on purpose, to encourage you to reign it in.
2) Mis might have underwear. I don't actually know, nor do I care to find out, because it's not actually important. It's a believable idea, given the character's behaviour elsewise, and my post was only intended to make this observation and amuse people who read it. it didn't warrant analysis.
3) To all that stuff about how the human world sucks and trespassers in school zones should get treated like Storm did: Sounds like you've got some baggage. You should probably work that out with a professional, not by slinging DMs at strangers.
4) Furry comic artists choosing to include friend and fan fursonas in their comic's world is not a new thing. Feretta's story is good because Feretta is a good writer, not because they give cameos. Your suggestion that Feretta including others' OCs in-world is "making his story better" is actually kind of insulting.
5) Pretty sure Feretta's a she. Not 100%, but their fursona certainly seems to be.

This was an utterly fantastic read and I am so very glad you shared your experience. You seen to be doing fine, so I'll at least try and give you some information, because I genuinely think you deserve that sort of if normalcy after whatever you had to read in DMs.

2) For what it's worth, your original post was funny to at least me. It's definitely true Mis doesn't wear underwear at all times, and I'm only saying this because your comment made me consider the possibility. I find it funny to think about.

3) That was surprising to see you summarize, and I do hope that person actually gets some help for that. Seems like a very specific thing to rant about.

4) For your information, Feretta consistently credit a co-writrr, Dreadwolf, and as far as I can tell the two of them create some fantastic dialogue to go along with the lore. So clearly, a lot of work goes unsung in the background and I would like to validate that yes, it is a tad insulting to insinuate that crossover = better. This is an idea that exists beyond just furry comic pages, so I'm not surprised to see that someone gave you a similar assumption. I have heard time and again the idea that books, movies, or games would be vastly improved by this or that crossover, and it indeed doesn't work that way.

5) Oh, right: Feretta has mentioned multiple times (I say this without condescension, I'm being very literal here) that it's pretty much Any pronouns in their case. I default to 'he' at times because my native language is naturally gendered, but occasionally switch to 'they' because I find the neutrality cathartic.

Also for your info: Feretta occasionally switches up their voice from one gender to another during streams (pretty much for fun) which further supports the 'AnyPronouns' situation. They also have both a male and a female variation of their main OC.

(Feretta, please correct any of this if I got it wrong; I legitimately don't mind.)

I am indeed doing fine, though I do appreciate your consideration. I didn't take anything they said personally—it was, for the most part, not even directed at me in the first place, which is one of the reasons it bewildered me as much as it did.

Thank you for the corrections and clarifications! I hadn't noticed the co-writer credits, but that's just because I don't always check the fine print. Likewise, I'm not one for stream-watching, so I've missed any discussion or revelation about pronouns on that front. I'll keep that all in mind moving forward, though!
