Judith Gwendolyn "Judy" Reinard was born on September 30, 1980, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has a twin sister, Magdalene Glendale "Lina" Reinard. Judy has a physical disorder where she can't grow hair on her head, leaving only fur. Judy's father, Jacob Reinard, was an airline pilot, and her mom, Mei Reinard, née Zhao, was a ceramic artist. Jacob was of French descent and Mei migrated from mainland China to the U.S. in the 60s. Judy's parents are alive and well.
Although her parents were quite well-off, Judy (and Lina) had a rough childhood. As foxes (Predator-Carnivore) living in a Prey-Herbivore majority neighborhood and in a country where herbivores outnumber carnivores by 10 to 1, Judy and her family frequently experienced discrimination and prejudice against foxes from the local community. However, the Reinard family was able to overcome all odds and be successful in their life, thanks to support from each other and other Predator-Carnivore families. Judy and her sister were raised Jewish by their father, even though their mother is a Buddhist; as they get older, Judy becomes less religious, while Lina is still religious.
To teach their children to be tough in life, Judy's and Lina's parents sent them to public schools. In school, Judy, like her sister, was considered to be smart, and the Reinard twins excelled at maths. Judy was tomboyish and extroverted, in stark contrast with her twin sister. As with most Predator-Carnivore kids in school, Judy was distrusted by almost all Prey-Herbivore kids. Judy had her clique with other Predator-Carnivore kids. Judy's tomboyish nature made bullies afraid of her, and she often stood up for Lina, who was a target of the school's Prey-Herbivore bullies. Judy went on to earn her physics degree from a prestigious private university in Upstate New York, and she was active in the university's students' union.
From a young age, Judy has always been fascinated and attracted by airplanes and aviation, especially since her father used to take Judy to airports for plane spotting. Judy also wanted to serve her country, with the 9/11 attacks consolidated her desire to serve. After graduating from university in 2002, Judy applied to the US Navy as a fighter pilot. She graduated from NAS Pensacola in 2004, as the top female pilot of her class. Judy wasn't immediately deployed after graduating, since she married her classmate in the flight academy, Richard Barkes, and wanted to build a family first. From her marriage with Richard, Judy has two children: Jerry, born in 2005, and Alexa, born in 2009; they were raised by Lina when Judy was stationed overseas. Judy was the fourth generation of the Reinard family who served in the military. Judy's father was one of the first fox naval aviators, he flew Douglas A-4 Skyhawk in Vietnam before becoming a commercial pilot, her grandfather fought in WW2 and Korea, and her great-grandfather was KIA in WW1; both her grandfather and great-grandfather served in the Army.
Judy was first deployed in 2006, and went to three more deployments during her four years stint in the Navy; she was out of America for almost three years. She flew F/A-18E Super Hornet and was assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 202 (VFA-202, callsign Thunderer), a unit of Carrier Air Wing Ten (CVW-10), onboard the final Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, USS Woodrow Wilson (CVN-78). Judy was one of the first vixens qualified to fly the Hornet jet. While in the Navy, Judy was the subject of teasing from other aviators and sailors, because of her body shape; but Judy can defend herself. Her "friends" often joked that Judy would be better off in the adult entertainment industry, but Judy knows she can rely on her physique forever and that her body doesn't define who she is. Judy was known for her flying skill, despite admitting her large chest can be hampering when doing high-G maneuvers. From 2006 to 2010, Judy flew combat missions in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria.
The birth of Alexa in 2010 compelled Judy to retire early from the Navy, as she felt her job there was too risky and dangerous. Her final rank was first lieutenant. She was also convinced that she can do more good by working in the civil aviation sector rather than dropping multi-million dollar bombs and missiles on insurgents living in tents in the desert. Following her early retirement, Judy moved to Willowfield, New Jersey, a small town 20 miles southwest of Manhattan. Judy joined Atlantic Eastern Air Lines later in 2010. And in 2011 she divorced Richard after she learned he cheated on her, Judy got custody of Jerry, while Alexa went to Richard.
In 2012, Judy met with Peter Voss, a fellow pilot for Atlantic Eastern, and the two began a relationship. She married Peter in 2014, and from her second marriage, Judy has two sons: Ellis, born in 2015, and Ronnie, born in 2025. Even though their relationship was smooth at first, Judy couldn't tolerate Peter's alcoholism, and the two divorced in late 2024 before Ronnie was born; Peter acquired custody of Ellis. Judy is warmer towards her second ex-husband than the first, as Judy and Peter work for the same airline, they two are still in contact, though Judy requested that she not be assigned to the same plane as Peter. After two failed marriages, Judy doesn't want to remarry.
Working for Atlantic Eastern, Judy is qualified to fly the Embraer E-Jet and E-Jet E2, Boeing 737NG and 737 MAX, Airbus A320ceo and A320neo, Boeing 777 and 787 Dreamliner families; she has 10,195 flight hours as of July 2025. She was laid off during the early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. Judy was promoted to captain in 2022; though she thinks if she's a Prey-Herbivore she'd be promoted years sooner. As of 2024, Judy earns $225,000/year working for Atlantic Eastern.
In 2023, Judy was appointed as Assistant Vice President for Species Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion of Atlantic Eastern, a position that requires her to attend some board meetings at the airline's headquarters in Denver, Colorado; but Judy somehow feels she's a "token carnivore." Also in the same year, Judy gave a Congressional testimony regarding prey nationalism and herbivore supremacy in the aviation industry as a representative from Atlantic Eastern, she testified that pilots with ties to prey nationalist and herbivore supremacist groups possess security and safety risk, and that it's no secret that the aviation sector is still dominated by herbivores. Judy's testimony in Capitol Hill catapulted her into the national stage and interviewed by TV channels, this also led to her being harassed online by speciesist trolls, she reported this to the police but they and the court couldn't do much, causing her to hire private security for several months, she also bought a handgun for self-defense. Nonetheless, some of Judy's herbivore and carnivore friends encourage her to run for political office. But Judy's aware that her species won't make it easy for her to be an elected official.
Judy's indeed thinking and eyeing running for Senate in 2030 as a progressive Democrat. Judy considers herself to be a democratic socialist, with her referring to her ideology and views as "socialism with American values." Despite her being a socialist, Judy opposes communism, calling it a failed system and will never be compatible with the American way of life. Judy's political heroes are Vermont Senator Ernie Sandberg and New York Congressman Alexandre Constanza-Orazio (ACO); Judy often donates to them even though she lives outside of their states. The election of Edith Vaughn as president in 2024 gave her hope that things are starting to be better for carnivores in America, Judy has all options on the table and despite she's an optimist, Judy thinks realistically.
Judy currently (as of 2025) lives in Willowfield with her sons Jerry and Ronnie. Judy resides in her 150-year-old Victorian house on 1995 Castle St., Willowfield, NJ. Judy hires a babysitter to take care of Ronnie when she's working. She's grateful that most residents of Willowfield, a Prey-Herbivore majority town, are welcoming of her. Judy is well-liked by her herbivore neighbors and she is described as a "pillar of the community." Since 2015, she has been active in and regularly donates to the local chapter of the Carnivore Lives Matter (CLM) movement. No one in Judy's neighborhood doesn't know her, she also has a sizable number of followers and friends on Snapmatic, Bleeter, and Lifeinvader, and in addition to her social activism, Judy knows why she's followed by a lot of people on social media. When she's not flying, Judy can be found in the local country club playing tennis and/or eating lunch, at the city park to do some yoga and/or jogging, or in the regional food bank cooking meals for the homeless. For the long term, if her political ambition turned out to be a bust, Judy plans to continue piloting until the mandatory retirement age of 65, she's not sure whether to accept a promotion to the airline's executive board or retire and enjoy her life.
