More lizards! This time a very slinky one.
This is Sauriv, he's my wizard lizard. I've been playing him in an Eberron D&D5e campaign.
He's specialized in divination magic; in fact I pretty much pick and prepare mostly divination spells with him, so during exploration he's quite fun, but maaaybe a little lacking during combat.

His story:
Sauriv was a pretty unremarkable lizard of the Twilight Walker tribe. Born under no special circumstances and with no special talents, he grew up to serve his people as a herbalist, scouring the jungles for herbs and plants the shamans and elders of his clan would use for healing and rituals.
At some point as a young adult, Sauriv grew very sick and drifted into a long lasting comatose sleep and during that sleep something happened to him. Something that changed him.
While his body grew weaker, his mind started to flourish. During his comatose state, he was haunted by visions and whispers. Words spoken in foreign languages, pictures of places he'd never laid eyes upon.
This grew in intensity and threatened to drown his very being, but eventually he recovered and woke up, after several years of deep slumber. Weak, frail, confused and changed.
During his recovery, he became quickly aware of the fact that while he still felt the same, something was very off about him. He suddenly had access to deep knowledge on topics that were entirely foreign to him and his people, though the knowledge was not readily available and needed some sort of trigger, to make it surface from the depth of his mind. He also had new abilities, the most remarkable being the knowledge and skill necessary to use arcane magic like a wizard. Something very unusual in the jungles of Q'Barra where he's from, since there are certainly no academies teaching the arcane arts in these wild parts of the continent.
The more time went by, the more knowledge and abilities would end up surfacing. Lastly, he was able to see the "pattern" so to call. The threads that are connected to every being and combine to eventually form the fabric of time and existence. He became aware of it, saw it, felt it and could study it, allowing him to predict the future itself, even though its meaning would elude him most of the time.
But he did end up seeing that his life thread was connected to those of a group of adventurers, that would arrive at the edge of the jungle, bringing the cure to heal a deep rooted sickness that befell the land.
And so, following his destiny, he joined them to aid them in their quest.

That sorta summarizes it. The idea was, that he was sorta posessed by another very powerful being, granting him power and knowledge that was not his own. Why he ended up being the host for that being and to what end, is still a story that needs to be told. I don't even know it myself, yet :D
Anything else... uhh... his design is based on a red eyed crocodile skink and he has a crow familiar called Vashj
