<< The dark secret >>
The grimy hallways of Novo-Rijeka High stretched out before Moggy as she cautiously stepped onto the school grounds. The walls were covered with graffiti, the windows filthy and scratched. The smell of rotting garbage and exhaust fumes hung heavily in the air, and the dull roar of constant traffic reverberated through the thin walls.
As she walked down the long corridor, her steps trembling and her throat tight, Moggy could hear the low murmurs of other students gathering in their classrooms. She felt utterly out of place in this desolate environment, surrounded by humans and Anthros who didn't understand her and often despised her. Being an Anthro-Giraffe made her an easy target for mockery, and every day she faced the cruel remarks of her classmates.
School was hell! Each day was a torment, and she wasn't sure how much longer she could endure it. She made a point of getting up early to be in her classroom quickly, hoping to avoid the constant confrontations in the hallways. But not today.
Suddenly, she was intercepted by a group of her tormentors, lurking like predators waiting for their prey. Among them were a few humans and an Anthro-Lion whose growling laughter sent chills down her spine.
"Well, look who we have here," roared the Lion, his voice full of power and cruelty. "Up early, huh? Trying to sneak past us? Not without payment! Come on, fork over the food!"
He yanked on the Giraffe's backpack until it tore open and grabbed the lunch pack.
"Stupid Giraffes should eat grass; this isn't for you!"
"No, Giraffes actually eat leaves from trees," said a chubby boy.
"Shut up, you know-it-all! Who asked you?"
The other bullies laughed mockingly, and Moggy felt her fear turning into anger. She was already thin, and these jerks were making her even thinner. But she forced herself to stay calm, fighting back the tears that burned in her eyes.
After tearing herself away from the group, Moggy rushed into her classroom and hastily found her seat. As she sat down, she let her head fall onto the desk and covered her face with her arms. She didn't want the others to see her crying.
A few minutes later, the lesson began, the only peace she could find. She wasn't a particularly good student, but she diligently took notes, planning to study more at home.
Now and then, she glanced out of the window at the city in the distance. Skyscrapers towered into the sky, shrouded in a haze of smoke and smog. There were only a few patches of green amid the concrete and industry, and Moggy felt even more out of place in this lifeless environment.
The teacher's voice echoed softly through the classroom as Moggy scribbled down what was written on the blackboard. Her thoughts were focused on her notes when suddenly the classroom door swung open, and the school principal entered. A murmur ran through the class as the students looked up curiously to see what was happening.
"Excuse the interruption, dear students," the principal began in a serious tone. "I would like to introduce a new student who has joined us today. Please give a warm welcome to Kiyoko."
The class's attention turned to the young woman standing behind the principal. Kiyoko was Asian, but her red hair and dark clothing made her stand out from the others. Some students looked at her with disdain and whispered to each other, and Moggy could feel the tension in the room rise.
"Kiyoko has had a difficult time," the principal continued, casting a sympathetic look at the students. "I ask you all to help her integrate into our school and make her feel welcome."
A few awkward murmurs of welcome arose from the class, but most students remained silent, eyeing Kiyoko with dismissive glances. After the principal finished his introduction, Kiyoko walked through the room, chewing gum, and sat in the only available seat—right next to Moggy. Because Moggy was the least popular student, no one wanted to be near her. Normally, she found that terrible, but today, it was intriguing.
Curious, Moggy glanced at Kiyoko. Inside, she felt a mix of pity and curiosity, wondering what secrets lay behind those red hair and sad eyes.
But then the redhead turned to her and said, "What is it?"
Moggy quickly turned back to face the blackboard. "Oh, nothing. Welcome to our school."
A few hours later…
Lunch break was a torment for Moggy, like every day.
While the other students unpacked their lunch boxes and chatted in small groups, she sat alone at her desk, her stomach growling with hunger. The bullies had taken her lunch earlier, leaving her with nothing. She already struggled to concentrate at school, and an empty stomach made it even worse.
In the quiet classroom, she could hear the soft murmurs of the other students as they talked about rumors and stories. One conversation stood out when she heard some students discussing a monster that allegedly roamed the city at night, killing many people.
Moggy listened intently to their words when suddenly a figure stood beside her. Kiyoko, who had barely spoken a word, stood silently before Moggy and held out a lunch box.
"Here," Kiyoko said curtly. "I don't like this kind of food anyway."
Moggy's eyes widened in surprise when she saw the food. She could hardly believe that Kiyoko, who seemed so indifferent and distant, would offer her something to eat.
"Thank you," Moggy said softly, her voice choked with emotion. "That's really kind of you."
Kiyoko just shrugged and sat down silently next to Moggy. Once again, silence fell between them as Moggy slowly ate the food with gratitude. A sandwich. A really delicious one!
As the rumors about the monster continued to swirl through the room, Moggy felt a strange warmth in her heart. Maybe Kiyoko wasn't as cold and unapproachable as she first seemed. Perhaps behind her dark facade lay a truly kind person!
Class was over, and the students were packing up their things and heading home. Moggy waited impatiently, watching as Kiyoko carefully gathered her belongings. She was determined to befriend Kiyoko and arrange a meetup for later.
"Hey, Kiyoko," Moggy began hesitantly as Kiyoko was about to leave. "Do you have any plans tonight? Maybe we could hang out or do something together?"
Kiyoko turned slowly, her expression one of indifference. "I don't have time for friends," she replied curtly, leaving the room without any further explanation.
Moggy felt like a bucket of cold water had been dumped over her. The sting of disappointment was almost palpable as she watched Kiyoko simply walk away. But she was determined not to give up.
With a resolute look, Moggy followed Kiyoko out of the classroom, keeping a respectful distance. She watched as Kiyoko walked through the bustling city streets, eventually arriving in a dark and dangerous part of town.
Moggy stopped and observed from a distance as Kiyoko entered a cheap noodle shop surrounded by shady figures. The sun was setting, and Moggy felt a surge of fear. What was Kiyoko doing in a place like this? A lone schoolgirl? Shouldn't she be going home to her parents?
Her thoughts raced as she looked around for a safe place to hide. She noticed a small kiosk that was still open and quickly darted over, ducking behind the display, hoping no one would notice her. She grabbed a newspaper about video games and pretended to read it while she pondered her next move.
Was it smart to stay here and watch Kiyoko from a distance? Or should she just go home? This was a dangerous area, after all. But what about Kiyoko? Could the Asian girl take care of herself? Why was she here? Was she reckless? Or did she actually live here?
Moggy's head throbbed as she considered what to do next. Should she stay and wait for Kiyoko to come out? And act like it was just a coincidence? No, definitely not! She was behaving like a stalker. What was wrong with her?
Suddenly, Moggy heard footsteps behind her. Her heart began to race as she turned around and saw several men approaching. Their gazes were greedy and threatening, sending a shiver down her spine.
"Hey, pretty giraffe girl, what are you doing here all alone?" one of the men said with a wicked grin as the others laughed and drew closer.
Moggy backed away, her knees trembling with fear. Instinctively, she turned and ran, her steps echoing loudly through the dark streets. But her escape was short-lived as she suddenly found herself in a dead end.
Desperately, she looked around as the men closed in, their dark silhouettes vanishing into the night.
"Where do you think you're going, sweetheart?" one of the men said with a mocking laugh as he slowly moved toward her.
Moggy felt panic rising within her as she found herself trapped.
Her heart raced with fear as she searched for an escape, but there was none. The men slowly closed in, their silhouettes looming and menacing.
"Please, just leave me alone," Moggy pleaded with a shaky voice, but the men only laughed mockingly.
Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder, and she spun around to see who had touched her. One of the men stood before her, his face twisted with rage and greed.
"You're our prey now," he hissed with dangerous resolve, and Moggy knew she was in serious danger!
A sudden loud crash broke the night's silence, followed by a rumbling thunder that unsettled the thugs and made them pause. The ground trembled beneath their feet, as a deep growl echoed through the air, filling the night with a sense of foreboding.
In the distance, a massive figure emerged, monstrous and threatening. The beast stood about 60 meters tall, with greenish, scaly skin, red hair, and a long tail that swished ominously back and forth. It looked like a mix of human and lizard, part wild creature, part eerie monster.
The thugs stared in disbelief at the monster as it lumbered through the streets. Cars were crushed and demolished as the beast made its way through the city, its colossal form an unstoppable force of destruction.
Some of the thugs fled, but not all could escape. Some were crushed by the falling debris, while others were grabbed and torn apart by the monster's rampaging claws.
A scream of despair echoed through the night, followed by a sickening crunch as the monster devoured one of the thugs with a single bite.
Moggy could only watch in terror, paralyzed by fear, as chaos erupted around her. The reality of her situation hit her with overwhelming intensity, and she knew she was in a deadly trap, surrounded by an unimaginable horror that she could barely comprehend.
As the monster appeared and sent the remaining thugs into a panic, a spark of courage ignited in Moggy's heart. She knew she had to act now to save herself, and perhaps others too. With a determined look, she turned away and began to run, away from the looming form of the monster.
But despite her own fear, Moggy thought of Kiyoko. She couldn't just leave her behind, not now, when she was in such grave danger. Her heart pounded wildly as she set her sights on the noodle restaurant where she had last seen Kiyoko.
But when Moggy burst through the restaurant's door, Kiyoko was nowhere to be found. Panic washed over her as she frantically searched the room, her eyes darting back and forth.
"Kiyoko?!" she cried out in desperation, but only the echo of her own voice filled the room.
Her breathing quickened as she realized she was alone. The reality of her situation hit her with painful intensity, and she knew she had no time to lose.
With a mix of determination and desperation, Moggy rushed out of the restaurant, ready to do whatever it took to find her friend and save her from the unspeakable horror that haunted the city.
As Moggy stepped out of the restaurant, she witnessed a nightmarish spectacle. The monster, with its half human, half lizard form dominating the streets, continued to devour people, crushing them beneath its merciless feet and devouring them with greedy bites.
Moggy froze in horror as she saw the monster devour and crush people—criminals, civilians, and ordinary folks alike. A scream of terror escaped her lips as the monster suddenly turned its gaze on her and slowly began to approach.
Panic gripped Moggy again, and her heart felt like it would explode from fear. She spun around and dashed away, her footsteps echoing loudly through the dark streets. She heard the screams of others desperately trying to escape the grim fate that loomed over them.
The streets filled with the sounds of death—the crunching of crushed bones and the pleas of desperation echoed through the night. Moggy ran for her life, her lungs burning with exertion as she kept running, not knowing where she was headed.
Suddenly, she heard an ear-piercing scream and saw more people being crushed beneath the massive feet of the monster. A shiver ran down her spine as the monstrous foot came down toward her.
In a final act of desperate survival instinct, Moggy dove to the side and rolled, just in time to end up between the monster's toes. A moment of luck amid the chaos that saved her life.
The huge foot lifted again and monster continued its relentless path, and Moggy seized the opportunity to escape from this nightmare. She ran as fast as her legs could carry her, away from this place of death and despair, into the darkness of the night, ready to do whatever it took to survive.
As Moggy fled in wild panic, she couldn't help but notice the crushed bodies in the monster's footprints. Their mangled forms lay there, flattened and lifeless, a gruesome sight that took her breath away and made her heart ache with pain.
A chill ran down her spine as she imagined what it must have been like to die beneath the monster's clawed foot. The image of the crushed bodies haunted her as she ran, her steps driven by fear and terror.
Her stomach twisted with nausea as she thought about Kiyoko, fearing that she might meet the same fate. The thoughts of her friend filled her with a terrible mix of fear and guilt. She couldn't forgive herself for not being able to save Kiyoko, yet she knew she was too scared to stay and fight.
Tears burned in her eyes as she kept running, her thoughts overwhelmed by grief and self-recrimination. Yet even in her own despair, she couldn't stop thinking about Kiyoko and hoping that she was safe somewhere, away from the terrible horrors that plagued the city.
When Moggy finally made it home after minutes of non-stop running, she felt exhausted and battered. Her steps were heavy as she opened the door and entered the warm, familiar space. But despite the comforting surroundings, she felt an unbearable weight on her shoulders, one that she could hardly bear.
She had narrowly escaped a monster. She had witnessed several people being killed! And such a massive creature could, in theory, be there in minutes. But it didn't chase her; she was sure of that. Yet, was there any guarantee that the monster would stay away from her home?
Her parents were sitting in the living room, and they looked up with concern when they saw her walk in. "Moggy, where have you been so long? It's already nighttime! We were so worried!" her mother exclaimed, getting up and hurrying over to her.
Moggy collapsed onto the sofa, her eyes tired and empty. "I'm sorry, I just... I can't talk about it," she mumbled, tears of exhaustion in her eyes.
"Oh my goodness, honey, you're shaking all over. What happened?"
Moggy sobbed quietly, but then she gathered her strength and began to tell them about the terrible events that had unfolded. She spoke of the monster that terrorized the city, the people who died beneath its feet, and her own panicked flight.
Her parents listened intently, their faces filled with concern and compassion. "Oh, my poor darling," her mother whispered, wrapping her arms around Moggy and hugging her tightly.
"We're so glad you're back here now. You're safe here. We'll always be here for you, no matter what happens," her father said calmly.
Moggy sank into her parents' embrace, her tears mingling with a sense of relief and safety. In that moment, she knew that even in the darkest times, she was never alone—that her family would always be there to protect and support her. At least she had this place of comfort. Even though school was a torment, she had a good home.
Her thoughts drifted back to Kiyoko. What about her? Did she have a good home? Did she have someone who cared about her?
A few hours later....
The next day, Moggy still felt like an emotional wreck, her nerves torn apart by the events of the previous night. But despite her inner turmoil, her parents insisted that she go to school because they both worked and the authorities had reported that everything was safe again. Besides, they assumed that the school would address the events. Which wasn't entirely wrong.
As Moggy wandered through the school's hallways, she felt like a shadow of her former self. Her gaze was empty, her steps unsteady as she tried to gather herself and mentally prepare for class. But her thoughts still lingered on the horrifying events that had occurred the night before.
Suddenly, she saw Kiyoko standing outside the classroom and felt a surge of relief. She quickly walked over to her and suddenly hugged her tightly.
"Kiyoko! Oh my God, I'm so glad you're alive," Moggy whispered with a shaky voice, tears of relief in her eyes.
Confused and unsure, Kiyoko returned the hug and asked, "What's wrong? Why are you so upset?"
Moggy pulled back a bit and looked at Kiyoko with a desperate expression. "It's the monster... It really exists! Last night in the city... it was terrible... I saw everything!" she stammered, her voice filled with fear and sorrow.
Kiyoko frowned and shook her head. "That's nonsense, Moggy. There are no monsters in our city."
But before Moggy could respond, she heard the voices of other students gathering around, beginning to confirm the story.
"There were reports on the Internet! Unfortunately, there were no pictures... but many people are saying the same thing!"
"It destroyed cars and ate people!"
Kiyoko dismissed these statements with a stern look: "Do you believe everything you read on the Internet? The official news hasn't reported anything."
"Yeah, because they don't want to cause panic. At least that's what my uncle says!"
"Oh, your uncle, huh? Yeah, that's a reliable source..." Kiyoko mocked.
Moggy looked at Kiyoko with wide eyes. Something wasn't right with her. Yesterday she was so reserved, and now she was trying to downplay the others' arguments. But why?
Moggy remembered the hug from a few moments ago. It was as if Kiyoko had never been hugged before. Or was she imagining things? In any case, she seemed awkward in that moment.
Maybe she should be careful. After all, she didn't really know Kiyoko. Apart from the sandwich she had given her, she had no indication that she was a good person.
And the fact that she was wandering around dark places at night could have other reasons. Maybe she was involved in something criminal?
Without getting further involved in the discussion, Moggy distanced herself and went to her seat. The teacher would soon arrive, and class would begin.
But suddenly Kiyoko was standing at Moggy's desk. "Hey. Moggy was your name, right?"
She nodded. "Um, yeah. We introduced ourselves yesterday."
"Yeah, and if I remember correctly, you wanted to meet up. Well, as it turns out, I have some time after school today. Want to meet?"
Moggy took a deep breath. Why was Kiyoko suddenly interested in meeting her? What was happening? Should she decline? Was it dangerous? But wait. Maybe she could just suggest a place?
"Um, Kiyoko, sure! I'd like to meet up," she began hesitantly. "How about Zadro Park? It's public, really nice, and there's always something going on. Plus, the ice cream stand there is super good."
Kiyoko looked at Moggy with an inscrutable expression before slowly nodding. "The park sounds good. Let's meet there," she replied calmly.
Then she simply sat down in her seat next to Moggy.
The teenage giraffe felt unsure as she glanced over at the red-haired Asian girl. Yesterday she was worried about something happening to her, and now she found her unsettling.
But Kiyoko had agreed... So maybe she was overthinking it. Maybe Kiyoko wasn't so creepy, just a bit odd?
Time would tell.
A few hours later, Moggy was on her way to another class.
As she walked down the corridor, she felt uneasy about the upcoming meeting with Kiyoko. But at the same time, she felt a strange sense of excitement and curiosity about what was to come. It remained to be seen how their meeting in the park would unfold and what secrets would be revealed.
Suddenly, she was stopped by the bullies, led by the aggressive Anthro-Lion boy. He stepped in front of her and grabbed Moggy's lunchbox. "Tribute time, giraffe," he roared with a mocking grin.
Moggy felt fear and anger building up inside her, but she couldn't fight back. She was powerless against the bullies, and they knew it all too well.
But suddenly, Kiyoko appeared, confident and unwavering. She stepped forward with a sense of authority, her presence seeming to thicken the air around her.
"What do you think you're doing?" Kiyoko asked with an icy coldness in her voice. "Do you really think you can just bully anyone who's weaker than you? That's pathetic."
The Anthro Lion hesitated for a moment. He wanted to retort and start an argument, but there was something about Kiyoko's self-assured demeanor that gave him pause. Was it respect? Or did she make him nervous?
He finally relented and returned the lunchbox, though he let it drop to the ground on purpose, causing the food to spill and become contaminated.
With a triumphant grin, the Lion turned away and left with the other bullies, laughing and mocking as they went.
Moggy felt both humiliated and angry as she stared at the spilled food. But then she noticed that Kiyoko was still standing beside her, her expression blank but her eyes filled with determination.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that," Kiyoko said quietly, handing Moggy her own lunchbox. "I'm not hungry, just take my food."
Moggy was speechless with surprise and gratitude. She took the lunchbox from Kiyoko and felt a wave of relief as she held the food in her hands. In that moment, she knew that Kiyoko might be more than she seemed at first glance, and maybe she had found someone she could rely on.
Perhaps things would turn around for the better.
With the lunchbox in her hand, she watched Kiyoko as she walked away.
Why was she never hungry?
She opened the lunchbox and saw another delicious sandwich, with cheese and lettuce.
She almost felt guilty for accepting Kiyoko's offer!
Later in the afternoon, after school, Moggy sat by the riverside in the park, waiting for Kiyoko. The sun was already beginning to set, and the warm evening breeze blew through the trees and across the water. Moggy watched the current and the boats passing by. It was a peaceful spot that helped her relax from the day's tension.
She was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect from Kiyoko. The events at school had been confusing, and the uncertain encounters with the bullies had left her drained. Still, she was glad that Kiyoko had stood up for her that morning.
Suddenly, she heard movement behind her, and when she turned around, she saw Kiyoko walking toward her. Her red hair glowed in the evening sun, and her indifferent expression was somehow calming. She was dressed in her usual dark attire—black T-shirt, black shorts, and black flip-flops.
Moggy noticed that Kiyoko's skin was quite pale. Did she rarely go outside?
"Hey, thanks for coming," Moggy said as Kiyoko sat down next to her.
"No problem," Kiyoko replied casually. "So, where do you want to go?"
"I thought we could get some ice cream and have a chat," Moggy suggested, pointing to a small ice cream stand nearby.
"Ice cream sounds good," Kiyoko agreed.
They got up and walked over to the ice cream stand. Moggy chose strawberry, while Kiyoko opted for chocolate.
As they enjoyed their ice cream, they strolled along the riverbank and chatted a little.
"Tell me about yourself, Kiyoko. You've been pretty quiet so far."
The Asian girl thought for a moment. "Hmm. What should I even tell? My life isn't particularly great. Nothing special or interesting."
The tall and slender Moggy nudged her playfully. "Oh, come on. Your life can't be that boring. But if you want, I'll go first. So, I've lived here my whole life. My parents are a bit embarrassing, but they're pretty nice. My dad's name is Glaus-Geter, and he works as a lawyer. And my mom's a police officer..."
Kiyoko laughed. "A police officer? As a giraffe? Doesn't that make her a particularly big target?"
Moggy grinned. "Well, she's pretty skinny. And nothing's happened to her so far. Her name's Gatilda, by the way. We live together in Lava Stone Street in a pretty nice apartment. And before you ask, yes, the ceilings are high enough for giraffes. So, your turn."
Kiyoko smiled. "You're pretty funny. But I don't have much to tell, especially about my family. But okay, here's a brief summary: My dad left us when I was a little kid. And my mom died last year. Since then, I've been living in a Orphanage..."
"Oh... that's... that's really sad," Moggy said with a sympathetic expression.
"No, it's fine. The Orphanage is actually okay. The sandwiches you ate, I got from there. The people are friendly, and most of the kids are super well-behaved. I can't really complain... but somehow, I feel a bit out of place."
Moggy was at a loss for words. She felt bad for Kiyoko, but didn't want to show it. So she tried to steer the conversation in another direction: "Yeah, well... the sandwiches were really tasty. I was wondering why you didn't want to eat them?"
Kiyoko shrugged. "They just don't taste that great to me. And you... well, you looked pretty hungry. So I'm happy to give them to you."
"That's really kind of you! So, what was that this morning with the bullies?" Moggy asked curiously. "I mean, you really stood up for me."
Kiyoko shrugged again, perhaps trying to appear casual. "I don't like it when people bully others. These bullies are just cowards who feel strong when they push around the weak. But when someone comes along who's bigger and stronger, they get scared... and... oh, whatever..."
Moggy nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I hate that behavior too. Thanks for being there for me. It really helped."
Kiyoko gave a small but genuine smile. "No problem."
Moggy got a bit carried away and continued, "Sometimes I wish I were a big monster like the one I saw in the city... Then I could stomp on guys like that like bugs. And just crush them under my hooves. That would be awesome!"
Kiyoko seemed irritated by the topic: "Oh, come on, not this monster nonsense again. Those stories are ridiculous."
Moggy was taken aback. "You don't have to believe it."
"I don't!" Kiyoko snapped.
But Moggy didn't want to annoy her further, so she said, "Okay, I'll stop talking about it. But I'm going to keep investigating, and one day I'll capture a video of the monster. Then I'll prove to you and everyone else that it exists."
This time, Kiyoko laughed. "That's pretty bold talk for a weak giraffe who gets bullied at school."
The giraffe girl grew more confident: "You'll see! I'll do it!"
But Kiyoko suddenly became serious. "Don't do anything stupid! If you try that, it could cost you your life. Is it worth dying for?"
"Better an exciting death than a boring life!" Moggy replied with a mischievous grin, then added, "Besides, since I met you, I feel like nothing can happen to me."
"Pah! I'd be careful if I were you," Kiyoko shot back.
As they continued walking, Moggy felt her initial nervousness begin to fade. Kiyoko seemed genuinely closed off but nice, and maybe they could really become friends.
For the first time in a long while, she felt like she had found a true friend.
As the sun slowly set, Kiyoko said, "I need to head home. At the Orphanage, we have strict rules."
Moggy nodded. "No problem. I should go home too. My parents aren't used to me being out with others."
They said their goodbyes and went their separate ways.
A few minutes later, Moggy was walking through an industrial area, where most businesses were already closed.
The emptiness made her uneasy. She tried to distract herself with better thoughts. She thought about Kiyoko and how nice she was...
Too bad she had to go home so soon. She would have liked to spend more time with her.
But...
But wait.
If the Orphanage had such strict rules, why was Kiyoko out so late in dark alleys last night?
Suddenly, Moggy felt a vibration in the ground... then another, and another... They were footsteps!
Massive... Heavy footsteps!
When she realized what it meant, the hair on her neck stood on end. She turned around and saw the giant monster approaching her. It was back!
And not only that... It was walking slowly and heading straight for her... staring intensely at her!
Moggy was paralyzed, moving cautiously backward with her mouth agape and eyes wide open.
Suddenly, a woman who had just come out of one of the buildings screamed as she saw the monster. "Ahhhh, what is that?"
But the monster didn't hesitate—it stepped right onto the woman, crushing her to pulp under its clawed foot.
Moggy's heart was racing. Her pulse grew faster and faster, and she was breathing rapidly and shallowly. Her whole body was preparing to run, but did she even have a chance to escape?
Then she stumbled over a garbage bag and fell. Trembling, she lay on the ground, looking up at the approaching monster.
Only then did she realize that the monster walked on two legs like a human and was actually wearing clothes!
It had red hair and greenish, scaly skin.
"Please... please don't hurt me!" Moggy finally cried.
"It's too late for that," rumbled the deep voice.
"You... you can speak? Wait... wait... your voice..."
The monster continued, "You shouldn't have tried to uncover my secret. Now I have no other choice!"
The monster then lifted its foot over Moggy and slowly stepped on her, pressing her down, so that the little giraffe was trapped under the massive foot.
Moggy's heart raced in her chest as she was slowly squished beneath the soft sole. She was literally in mortal fear. But... somehow, she had become so used to fear from the bullies at school that it didn't feel much worse than those experiences, if that made any sense. It felt strange to be pinned under a giant foot. Somehow, this experience was at least something different. Something exciting. Phenomenal! An adventure.
An adventure she probably wouldn't survive...
But she gathered her courage and said, "You... It’s you! I don't know how this is possible... But it's you, Kiyoko! Am i right?"
"Stop talking to me; I'm trying to crush you!" the monstrous girl replied.
"No! Please, Kiyoko, stop! I... I thought we were friends!"
"We barely know each other. Besides, you've seen me kill many others. Just now, I crushed a woman. Didn't you see that? I'm a monster!"
"But... but you protected me from the bullies... and... I'm really grateful for that... please... I won't tell anyone your secret!"
"It doesn't matter now... you're just an insect to me... I'm going to crush you..."
Tears welled up in Moggy's eyes. But not because she was about to die—no, it was more because she thought she had found a friend, only to find out that this very person was a heartless monster. "Okay... at least I'm dying under your foot! That's a comfort to me!"
She bent her neck forward and licked the skin grooves of Kiyokos toe that was pressing on her body. "You have beautiful feet. It's not so bad being crushed under them."
As she said that, she realized she actually meant it.
Kiyoko giggled: "Stop it! That tickles!" She pushed her foot forward a bit and pressed down harder, pinning Moggy's face to the ground.
"No! Please don't, Kiyoko. I... I don't want to die yet. Can you at least give me a few more days? I want to learn more about you... get to know you before I have to die. You fascinate me!"
But the monstergirl just said, "I'm going to lift my foot and then stomp you flat. It'll be a quick, painless death. Got it?"
She raised her foot high in the air and whispered, "Get ready, Moggy!"
The terrified giraffe looked up and stared at the huge greenish sole hovering above her. In that moment, she was overwhelmed by sensations and emotions. Even as a monster, Kiyoko looked very good. The sole of her foot seemed massive and threatening, yet it was beautifully shaped.
And what about herself now? Was she really just an insect, destined to be crushed? Was this her fate? Her end?
Then the foot came crashing down, and she screamed with all her might: "Nooo!"
BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM
The thunderous sound echoed for miles around.
The End.
At least end of part one.
