An Early Christmas Wish

The multi-colored glow of Christmas lights was the only thing that was waiting for Terrance when he got back to his apartment. He was tired down to his bones, having worked a double shift rotating through the tables to handle the rush of people who decided that their Christmas wish was a miracle jackpot. Not that it did anything to keep the casino from coming out ahead.
Not even bothering to turn on the lights, the young man walked over to his couch and dropped down face first onto the well-worn fabric. He just needed a few minutes to relax before he could get out of his work uniform. Just a few minutes to try to unwind and rest his feet, then he could get changed. He just had to keep from falling asleep right where he was. He was half way through that thought when he drifted off.
He woke up looking at the flickering flames in a fireplace, the firelight dancing across the room and casting everything in a warm glow. It took Terrance a few moments to realize that his apartment didn’t have a fireplace in it. Blinking a couple of times, he rolled onto his side and rubbed his eyes. “What?”
“Good evening,” A new voice said from across the room.
Terrance sat up, twisting around to find the source of the voice, letting out a yelp as he did so. He wasn’t sure what he was expecting, but finding a man dressed like Santa Claus sitting in a large velvet lend chair and eating cookies was not anywhere on the list. He had no idea where the man had come from, or the chair as there wasn’t anything like that in his sparsely decorated apartment.
“What?” he asked again, unable to come up with anything else to say.
The man smiled and brushed some crumbs from his thick white beard. “I apologize for startling you, but I thought it was best to speak to you directly.”
“Who are you?” he finally managed to sputter out.
“Santa Clause,” he said with a smile, pulling himself up from the chair with a grunt. He did look the part, being quite heavy set with a large gut that jiggled under the bright red jacket. As he did the chair seemed to vanish as he stood, turning into red and green smoke that was pulled into the fireplace.
Terrance just sat there, dumbfounded at what he was seeing. “Uh….” Was about the only sound he could make.
Santa chuckled, which made his belly jiggle again. “Why am I here two days before Christmas? Well, I wanted to talk to you about this letter you sent me,” as he spoke, he pulled a letter out of thin air, holding it one hand while with the other he plucked a pair of glasses from nowhere and placed them on his nose. The letter was crumpled and folded a number of times and marked with crayon. “You asked for a few things, but the one that interested me is that you asked to be a cow.”
That made him blush, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand as he glanced away. He remembered that letter, even though he had sent it when he was ten years old. “Yeah.”
With a big smile Santa put the letter away. “Now, my current cow has retired this year, and I thought I would ask if you—”
“Yes,” Terrance said without even a moment's thought.
That made Santa laugh, a heavy laugh that rolled up from deep inside of him and shook his whole body as it escaped. “Don’t you want to know the details?”
“If I get to be a cow, I really don’t think so,” he replied with a smile, gently tugging on his dark green vest to make sure it was on straight. “I’ve always wanted to be a cow,” he added a moment later.
The jolly old elf could only smile as he walked up to the young man. “A big dairy cow, yes?” he asked, reaching into his jacket pocket, digging around inside of it for a moment before pulling his hand back, his fist tightly closed. With a throwing motion, he unfolded his fingers, sending a wash of something like glitter raining down over Terrance.
A shiver ran through his body, starting from the very base of his feet and running upwards until his hair stood on end for a few seconds before falling back into place. “Yes,” he said, shifting his weight as he felt his ear twitch, then flick forward. Reaching up, he grabbed his ears, finding a pair of much larger ears on the side of his head. They were growing under his touch, and starting to push up towards the crown of his head.
“Then I will be happy to allow you to be one. Don’t fear, when your service is done, you’ll return to this place and time, as if you never had gone.”
For the moment Terrance didn’t really care about what would happen after he was turned back, as he didn’t even want to think about that right now. Instead, he focused his attention on his body, his clothing already starting to grow tight across his chest, while at the same time something was starting to push into his vision.
Crossing his eyes, he watched as his nose pushed outwards, growing wider and flattening while taking on a pink hue. Brown fur had started spouting across his new muzzle as it grew lager by the moment. He could feel the changes pushing into his mouth, his jaw stretching outwards, his teeth growing and shifting at the same time. Even his vision was shifting as his eyes moved, his peripheral vision growing in prominence while he saw less of his muzzle.
He reached up and ran his fingers across his muzzle, feeling the rough fur tickling against the skin of his fingers, even as his nails were growing thicker and wider as he did. His clothing was getting ever tighter, his vest pulling across his filling chest, the golden buttons pulling tight at the buttonholes in the green fabric, while the seams of his dress pants were starting to creak and pop.
Terrance debated trying to undo the buttons, but when he looked back at his hands, he was surprised to see that they were already too far changed to be able to do much of anything. Some fingers were growing longer, while others pulled back, merging into his wrist as a hoof was starting to cover the tip of what remained. Instead, he shifted his weight, quickly pushing off one of his shoes even as he felt his feet starting to change. He was able to work the other shoe off before he finally lost his balance.
He found himself falling backwards, the sound of his pants tearing filled the air moments before he slammed into the floor, the carpet not doing much to cushion the landing. It made him gasp, but it came out as a moo. A real proper cow moo and not just him trying to make the sound himself.
Now free of his pants, his hips rushed outwards, growing wider with each moment, his ass swelling and lifting him upwards off of the floor. There was also a tugging feeling at the small of his back, right on top of his rump. He twisted his head around, but couldn’t quite manage to look over his back. The pulling turned into a stretching as his tail pushed free, slipping down between the curve of his ass.
Somehow, the buttons on his vest were still holding, even though the fabric was stretched out over a much larger chest than it was ever meant to hold. There were small pops and tears as one by one the threads holding the buttons in place started to fray and break. Then with a snap and ping one of the buttons flew off, flying across the room and zipping past Santa’s cheek before striking the wall behind him.
Like a zipper, the rest of the button started to give up one after the other, moving downwards until the very last one broke free. The dress shirt wasn’t anywhere near as well made, and tore instantly as his chest surged forward, his body growing in every direction at once.
Terrance rocked forward, coming down onto his new hooves. Rocking his head side to side, he felt his neck snap and twist as everything moved, putting him fully into a quadruped stance. Scraps of his clothing still wrapped around his growing body, his vest pulled around the thick shoulders behind his wide neck, socks wrapping around his hind hooves while scraps of his pants and shirt hung around his body.
The growth started to slow as he shifted his weight from hoof to hoof as the floor under him started to creak in protest of holding up a ton of bovine.
He let out a gasp of the feeling of changes suddenly rushed downwards between his hind legs. Everything was washed with a wonderful feeling of warmth. Lowering his head, he looked down between his fore legs, watching as his belly started to swell, four thick teats growing from the fur, followed soon by a large pink and black udder that grew and grew until it pressed against both hindlegs to the point that it was bulging around them, the long nipples almost reaching the carpet.
The pressure in the udder was wonderful, and nothing like Terrance had ever felt before.
Santa let out another chuckle, reaching out and placing a hand on top of the new cow’s head to ruffle the hair that had remained after the change. “Never seen anyone change that fast. Now girl, let’s get you back to the north pole, I’m going to need a lot of milk for this year’s trip.”
Terrance let out a moo and nodded his… her… yes her head and took a step after Santa, her udder swinging between her legs and sending a jolt of pleasure through her whole body.
“And if you’re good and give me a lot of milk, I won’t turn you back for a long while,” he said, then placing one hand on Terrance’s back, he touched the side of his nose. In a flash both man and cow vanished up the fireplace (which itself vanished a moment later), taking her to a long life as a very happy cow.
