Charizard stoically bore the arena's sweltering temperatures and jeering crowds, blocking out everything as he began to pull at his chains. They were long and heavy, constantly trying to force his arms apart, but he valiantly kept them taut.
No give. The dragon began to pant and sweat, blowing jets of restricted steam past the cables around his snout as he put more stress on the shackles, refusing to give them even an inch of slack.
Still no give. Someone threw something but he ignored it. All that mattered was this struggle. The burning of his muscles. The strain of heated metal.
Something started to groan under the pressure. The curved pillars supporting the ceiling trembled as a few flakes of debris rained down. Charizard could feel the cuffs around his wrists buckling, the bolts holding them shut beginning to creak and bend. The dragon grit his teeth and pulled harder, forcing himself to keep up his output.
A wall cracked, then another. The supports groaned louder, unable to bear the weight of the ceiling and the strength of Charizard at the same time, and the audience finally caught on. They ran as chunks of concrete fell, several landing around the dragon. Even then he tuned out the noise. Nothing else mattered. He had to break out... he would break out before the building caved!
Just a little more... Just... a little... mooooore!
