This really is one of our local deer. We get a lot of non-typicals around here but this guy must have gotten into one of our hallucinogenic mushroom patches.
Anyway, I just got back last night from a five day, 3900 mile round trip starting in Iowa and going through Denver and up over I-70, (Eisenhower tunnel at the summit is 11100+ feet altitude and is the highest point in the US Highway system), to Las vegas, then to Bakersfield CA, then to L.A., then home via the southern route. I was pulling an empty U-Haul trailer while going to Bakersfield and I barely made it going over I-70 and would not have made it back that way hauling about 1200 pounds of antiques. (My Ford focus would have either blown up or I would have burned up my brakes and died in the resulting crash.) So I went the extreme southern route around the Rocky Mountains to get back. Pleasant trip really overall. Now with two days rest, I get to drive an easy two day, 1900 mile round trip to Georgia to pick up more antiques, (no trailer this time). Note: antiques is just a hobby.
I haven't posted art in a bit but I have five in the works and am working to get them out. I probably should pick just one and get it finished.

Swiss Army Antlers That is one heck of a non typical buck. A couple of years ago in Arizona I saw the opposite - a rather puny Bull Elk with just one antler - no tines, a bit crooked. Looked like a really messed up Unicorn. Drove past it a few times - was always around the yard of one home along Highway 87 on the way to Payson AZ.
I've been gone from the area for almost ten years now. Dad worked 25ish years at the DC. I don't remember Fat Baggers inc, though I do remember C&C but not where it's at. I'm kinda shocked really, cause I think I've seen your art before I left Iowa.
I'm sure there is a long story to match the long trip.

I used to work at a nuke plant and the local fauna didn't get that weird (well, except some of the lobsters). This guy is pretty intense!
I'm kind of fond of antiques, too. Tools, guns, techie trash. I've got a small collection of U. S. Signal Corps gear I'm always looking to extend.

My antique passion the last few years has been pre 1920 surveyors instruments, mainly transits, some levels, a few compasses. What I dragged back from CA in the trailer was three hit-and-miss engines and accessories. Car was loaded with surveyors transits mainly. Used to have a huge collection of antique firearms. Just a few left anymore but a few neat ones. Also have a lot of nice carved Meerschaum pipes.
I had a bunch of (close to 100) antique cameras years ago. I had to store them somewhere while I built my 'new' house, so they went in the garage. The roof failed and destroyed the lot. The one I miss the most is an old Cone and Close, a 4-plate 'magazine' camera that competed with the early Eastman Kodak.
Yeah. The trailer had a thousand pound + load and the car was packed. It was a trial-by-fire thing, if I could make that climb, I knew I'd make it home. Nothing else came close to that monster.
I was behind a semi one night going down the Grapevine when he toasted his breaks. Things were glowing red then he lost a tire and the tread separated whole, (almost hit that), and it knocked his snow chains loose from where they were stored beneath the trailer. Whoa! Fireworks really started then!

Oh WOW!! What a neat catch you got here! I could only dream of being one of the individuals who finds one of those antlers after it’s shed for the season.
Im actually really surprised that he’s still walkin around with a rack like that on him. Atypical antlers lile that can go for a fat chunk of cash if you find the right buyer (last I saw an antler like his, it was an 11 pointer single-side going for +$300).
Also; aaawwwww yeeee, antiques!! My husband and I rent our tiny one-bedroom house, so I cant fill it up with antiques like I would want, hahah! What kinda stuff you interested in, if you dont mind my asking?

You obviously read the comment about the specific antiques but I have also collected pre and post war lionel trains since 1967. I have a very nice collection of vintage machine and hand made glass marbles. I have a huge collection of pre 1930 drafting sets. I have other things too... ... here is some of my surveyors instruments. https://www.pinterest.com/fallenlod.....al-collection/
