Here's something different for a change.
This bike was built on a new production Indian Chief. The client wanted a Samurai theme and gave us full license. My role was to engrave all metal that wasn't painted and on this bike, with its extended dual pipes, it was an extensive area. There are 26 warriors and various scenes along with extensive scroll work. throughout and I squeezed in a couple tigers in there also. I also machined a new smooth surface primary cover for an extra large engraving scene. Also, please note the Tanto Knife handle sticking up behind the seat, I designed and built a stick shift mechanism rather than having the plain foot shifter And with a push of a button, the knife can be withdrawn from the lower shift lever/scabbard if needed in a pinch. This was the final touch before we shipped it off overseas. Do note the leather work that runs from the dash on the upper tank to the very back of the fender.
Now back to our regularly scheduled nekid animal people. :)

Yes, the leather idea was taken from some armor and we sent the spokes off to have them fluted, (good eye). The same client had us do a bike that's all leather except for the normal chromed stuff. and maybe some of that. That bike impressed me more. insane tooling. I'm in a little rural Iowa town and the leather guy use to do Roy Rogers saddles and holsters, (along with some other movie industry stuff). But more coincidentally, our manual shop machinist used to bowl with Roy Rogers... AND I use to play with one of his adopted kids when the Rogers use to live across the street from us in Encino Ca. (early 60s). What are the odds of three people in one rural Ia. town knowing the Rogers like that?
I wonder how many people on FA are old enough to even know who he was?

Well, heck, I just turned 66 so I grew up with Roy Rogers, Rex Trailer's Boomtown, William Boyd ('Hopalong Cassidy') and a number of other cowboy actors. The father of a former boss did saddles and holsters for a number of Hollywood movies such as Lonesome Dove and Heaven's Gate. He was in his 80s in 1996; probably long gone now.
