Pomeline laughed and snorted loudly as she draped a line of colored lights over Bayusha's arm. "HAH!" he chuckled. "This is a riot! I always wanted to decorate Bay like a Christmas tree!"
On the other side of the Brachio, Stefka chuckled as well. "This IS pretty fun, 'ey? Heh heh! We should do this every year!"
A tiny sigh came from atop Bayusha's nose, prompting the Brachio to cross her eyes downward at the Compy perched there tending to a single light on the cord draped across Bayusha's snout. "Of course you guys would make the most of a situation like this," Constantine said, rolling his eyes. "May I remind you that we're only doing this because SOMEONE got too hungry and ate the freakin' Christmas tree in the middle of town!" He glared directly at Bay's huge eyes, making the Brachio smile nervously.
Pomeline burst out laughing again. "Poor Bay, just couldn't contain her hunger for leafy cones!" she chortled.
Bayusha blushed. "I swear, it look like frosting and sprinkles, like delicious treat for me!" she said sheepishly.
"Frosting and sprinkles?" Constantine huffed, turning to look at her in the huge eye. "More like snow and lights." Bayusha huffed this time, rattling Constantine's perch momentarily. The Compy sighed. "... How'd it taste...?"
"Like I say, darling," Bayusha chimed. "Delicious!"
"Mmph, well I'm glad it was worth it," Constantine sighed. He couldn't be mad though. After all, he knew the antics of his giant friends too well at this point. Why fight them?
He WAS, though, fighting an orange light, which, unlike the rest, refused to light up. "Ah phooey! This one's still not working..." he groaned. "I guess I'll have to rewire it."
"Why not just take it back home to your workshop, my dear?" Pomeline put in. "You can fix it up there, and then bring it back here!"
"PFFT!" Stefka scoffed. "Well I know what YOU'VE been watching!"
"Hey, it's a classic!" Pomeline protested. "Can you blame me?"
"Well I'm pretty sure there's no way I'll be able to carry THIS tree back home!" Constantine said matter-of-factly. The giant gals all laughed, and of course Bayusha's laughter rattled the Compy's perch once again.
Constantine sighed again, but smiled nonetheless. While this wasn't what he expected, it also WAS what he expected, but at least he was spending Christmas right where he wanted, with his best friends, and for once, no destroyed buildings, and nothing more than humongous cracks in the ground.
As he tried to work on the broken light, he wondered out loud as he turned to look at Bayusha's forehead. "... Where are we gonna put the tree star?"
"We can just clamp it to the front of her hat," Stefka suggested. "Or... should it go on the end of her tail?"
Pomeline smirked. "You know, we COULD rub some glow-y yellow stuff on Conny and-"
"Don't even think about it, Pom!" Constantine interjected. The Styraco and Para both laughed.
As Constantine rolled his eyes, Bayusha cooed to him softly. "Well I think you would make great star," she said warmly.
Constantine blushed. "You really think so?"
"I KNOW so~" Bayusha said with a wink. Constantine smiled, though he still didn't know about being coated in luminescent paint and glitter.
"Almost done," said Stefka. "How you holdin' up there, Bay?"
"That's just it, darling. Holding up," Bayusha mused. "All fine though." She smiled playfully as she watched Constantine work on the light. He was facing the other way, just like she often preferred. "... At least I have good view~"
Now Constantine blushed harder. He knew what she meant too well. "Are you staring at my bum again?!"
Bayusha only answered with a giggle, ratting his perch again, followed by chuckles from Stefka and a honk from Pomeline. "You DO have a nice little butt, you know?" the Para chimed.
Constantine glared at her with a grunt and narrowed eyes, but still with a blush. He sighed and and glanced back at Bayusha. "... Okay fine, you can stare," he said, blushing harder, "but only because it's Christmas."
"That's the spirit, little dude!" Stefka chuckled. "Let Bay have something interesting to look at while she has to sit here a while."
Bayusha indeed kept her eyes focused on the Compy's tush. It would take something just as interesting to make her look away from it.
Surprisingly, something else interesting DID appear, as she looked down from the corner of her eye without moving her head to keep Constantine's perch straight, and noticed several small scale folks watching them from below, some taking pictures, and some waving at them, but most just in awe of a few large scales spreading some peaceful Christmas cheer to their community without actively causing damage. "Ooh, we have company!" Bayusha said cheerfully. "Merry Christmas to you all!"
"'Eyyy! Merry Christmas, small fries!" chipped in Stefka in her cheeky way.
Small voices sounded back up to them.
"Merry Christmas!"
"Best tree ever!"
Constantine found something else to smile about, with the small scales seemingly not letting the intimidating size of the large scales get in the way of their spirit. "Heh, Merry Christmas everyone!" he called, feeling the cheeriest he had felt in a long time.
"MERRY DINOSAUR DAY!" blared Pomeline.
The others stared flatly at her. Pomeline let out a neutered honk and shrugged. "... What?" she asked innocently.
Anyone who gets that obscure reference at the end there gets a cookie.
Happy Dinocember! The dino gals and one dude spread some Christmas cheer to the small scales. Peace between dinos of drastically differing sizes. And as a little callback, those are indeed the same hoodies from last year's Dinocember pic.
Enjoy, and Merry Christmas everybody!
