Marian: Oh, my! Doesn’t the water look simply refreshing, Robin?
Robin: Oh, yes. Quite right. And I’m sure it feels refreshing, too, especially on such a sweltering summer day. Would you like to take a dip with me?
Marian: That sounds wonderful, but…we don’t have any bathing clothes to change into.
Robin: Oh ho! Not to worry. We don’t need bathing clothes. We can always…skinny dip.
Marian: Oh goodness!

As you can tell, this is the first image in a series of pictures with Robin and Marian enjoying some watery fun deep in a forest glen. Both of them are dressed, but it’s only a matter of time until they’re not.
I wanted to create a series of pictures to experiment with paint.net. First, I wanted to create clothes for both Robin and Marian. I think they both turned out decent enough. The only thing I didn’t create were shoes for both of them and a hat for Robin. No matter. The best thing about creating clothes for characters? Getting to see them take it all off later!
I also wanted to experiment with paint.net blur effects. As you can see, I created the water’s surface using another layer, as well as blur effects for Marian and Robin’s reflection. I would so love to do more with it, like creating a ripple effect for the water. Alas, I’m not sure how to go through with that.
