Letters to Cloaker Cat: #2
Dear C.J.,
Can I ask what motivated you to become a superhero? I know nobody in the G-52s (except for SuperCat) would have wanted to be in that organization if CNG didn't give them superpowers. Or am I mistaken? In any case, I just moved here due to a job transfer, and my daughters are big fans of you, so I promised them I'd write you a letter asking you this question. One reason they are big fans of you is the fact you didn't bother to go on one of those singing/talent shows that seem to be clogging up the airwaves on commercial television (unless if it's WBC).
Sincerely,
Valetta O'Pauleen, age 41 (human being)
Originally from Cork, Republic of Ireland
Now living in Wildcat City, Kansas, USA
P.S. I still have the Irish accent; I don't plan to lose it anytime soon. I don't know why I'm saying that, but it's the truth.
Cloaker Cat's response:
Dear Valetta,
I get that question a lot, actually, but the answer I always give is that I didn't really have any motivation to be a superhero because it wasn't something I was planning on doing. I got my powers after one of my shows ended and I was trying to leave the building; I did as the police and the C.I.D.F. told me, but because CNG can appear out of nowhere in the blink of an eye, it got to me anyway. Its biggest mistake, it said when it surrendered to the forces of good in the wake of its extreme fear of President Zanicchi and his international counterparts, was creating its own worst enemy: the G-52s and their allies.
However, I am a unique case in that my superpowers are not activated unless I'm wearing my superhero's outfit. This is good, because I don't need them for everything.
I am grateful that I have the innate talent for singing, and you're absolutely right; I didn't have to go on "American Idol," "The Voice," or "The X Factor" to be discovered. The biggest successes in the music industry are the people who don't go that route (as far as I know), and when it comes to those shows, sometimes the losers turn out better than the winners. I'm my own boss, though; I refuse to be used by unscrupulous producers.
I hope that helps, and thanks for writing to me.
Yours truly,
Cynthia ("C.J.") Prowlson, Jr.
