
Another gift rug from this past December, this time TTRPG themed! Uh-oh, it looks like you failed that saving throw..
This rug was designed by me and completely handmade from acrylic yarn - every loop was punched by hand! That gray color certainly took forever, lol.

I'm really glad I tried different materials, because as it turns out, it depends on the backing fabric! Monk's cloth is by far the most popular and recommended choice, I think because it is cheap and readily available, but it is quite a resistant fabric and I found my wrist, arm, all the way up to my shoulder incredibly sore after working with it. On my next attempt, I tried primary tufting cloth instead, and the difference was huge! Primary tufting cloth, while more expensive and available online only, is much more elastic and the needle glides through it like butter. I would recommend it over monk's cloth any day.
