The baxxids' cavernous dwellings under the city have a trickle-down water system that flows from pod to pod, with the more prestigious of them living higher up and untested young near the bottom.
However, this is seen more as a higher degree of responsibility placed upon the elders than it is a sign of superiority. No matter how young or old or rich or poor they are, dunking one's food-covered face or claws into one's pool to flow into the supply of the one below is a major social faux pas; and everyone knows who their water-neighbors are.

I decided to sit down and re-read the whole thing from start to finish.. and it's been a real rollercoaster, but the storyboarding and the efforts made have been worthwhile as it has unfolded. :3
Suffice it to say I'm actually in the market to possess a Yinglet myself.. x]
is there a mean's to procure such an elegance? :>

A long time ago I felt that Vizlet's voice made me think of Shohreh Aghdashloo (aka Chrisjen Avasarala from The Expanse.)
I keep trying to envision the voices for these fellows and never can. I find myself thinking that if you could 'hear' their thoughts, they would be in a tone so alien it could not be matched to any living person.
Or that there would be inflections on their inner voices that would just be bizarre - like listening to a speech that was written and recorded, then played backwards, and then the person pronounced it in reverse, and then flipped it around frontwards again, making the end product usually rrrrrreally distorted. (er, that sort of a thing, not that exact thing, yaknoo?)

I really love these two! They're rapidly becoming my favorites.
I like the details in this one. How they use their clothing not just as personal decoration, but also to decorate their bare cave walls. And the difference between the head coverings. Zhertta's covers her four back eyes, while Kalgkurs leave them all exposed. And the fabric between his claws is a neat touch.
Very nicely done!

REALITY OF OUT-OF-PLACERS
Does the city of Val Salia actually exist, and if so, where?
I submit that the first question is equivalent to "is the universe infinite" or "is eternal inflation true"
or "is the Many Worlds Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics true"
and the answer to the second is "10^(10^115) meters away" (if the first version of question one is yes) or "in another Hubble Volume" (for the second version) or "on another quantum branch in infinite-dimensional Hilbert Space" (for the third version).
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiverse
Does Zat Zhing exist?
This depends on whether Zat Zhing is physically possible. I do not know if our level of scientific
knowledge is sophisticated enough to determine this. Is it magic or is it a technology sufficiently
advanced to be indistinguishable from magic to us? If magic, it does not, if technology, it does.
You would need, at minimum, something like a nanite with a dimensional portal to send excess mass into, and probably time manipulation to do everything in a few seconds. Many centuries ahead of us. It would be like Roger Bacon wondering whether it would be possible to travel to the Moon or to Sirius in a week. The Moon is just technology, Sirius is, unless we are grossly mistaken, magic and therefore impossible. Apollo 11 existed, Enterprise NCC-1701 never will.
However, a version of Zat Zhing which takes a month instead of a moment should be possible with extremely advanced nanotechnology.

Me, seeing the preview is nothing but Baxxids: "More "Screen-Time" for Baxxid's lets go!!!"
Me, after reading: "Well this isn't going as expected :("
(On a side note, do the baxxid have native fashion styles? or is it purely something they picked up as a way to appear more personable to other races and then evolved into its own thing?)

Your explanation reminds me of a horror movie.
A bunch of people are in a multi floor structure, their cells are square with a similarly shaped pit in the center.
Food is on a slab that is lowered from top to bottom, each prisoner bellow gets less and less food. and the remains of what the one above them ate.

I know this feeling too freakin well right now. In only a couple months, I lost both my grandmother and my father. I was very close to both, My grandmother having a significant role in setting me up for success in school despite being on the autistic spectrum (Asperger's syndrome). Though my parents had a painful divorce when I was in 1st-second grade, my dad stayed part of my life, and I later moved away from the state I spent most of my childhood in for better potential employment around his location. That was 14 years ago, I've moved into my own house (not renting) and have been at my current job for 6 years.
I miss you both, Dad and Grandma.
Sorry if this sounds negative. I mean no negative criticism of this page or your art. It's definitely a compliment, how this is able to hit me so hard like that.

Considering their alien form, which lacks the markers which we commonly use, and their stilted and unemotional sounding language, you've really hobbled yourself as far as being able to clearly communicate the Baxxid's emotional states.
In spite of this, you've nonetheless managed, in six panels, -two of which even completely lack dialogue- and without directly stating it, to illustrate a deeply emotional scene with clear implications.
This is emphasized by how directly some of the commenters above have related to this scene.
Your worldbuilding and storytelling skills continue to be increasingly impressive.

Yeah; this was always my aim with the baxxid, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how much a lotta readers seem to notice, and enjoy that aspect! It's always hard to tell which parts of the stuff I put work into that people will pick up on and/or appreciate, ya know?
Really glad you're enjoying this stuff that I'm putting all this work into!

I am in the process of writing a Yinglet Racial Template for GURPS. I have a ton of their books but never played a game (or any other RPG) and my only GURPS writing so far is the Aesop article from Pyramid Magazine in 2000. I will give a link to it when I post it on my website.
Interpretation usually is what causes most problems. That's why people need to learn to apologize more and own there own mess when they are wrong. I do it. It's called having integrity. It's a learned trait and it takes a long time to master. Some are better at it then others. Forgiveness is also a virtue. It took me along time to learn that one. It released me from the pain that others inflicted on me. These are all difficult life lessons to learn. All are worth learning though. I only wish I could of learned somethings sooner. A few of my kids learned to hold grudges from me. Now I can't change it. Hind sight and all that.
This is the most recent one?! Nooooo! I was hoping there was more, I can't believe I finished the whole thing in like 3 days...
Laments aside: I absolutely fucking LOVE this comic! There's so many good characters, the plot is interesting, the world-building is to die for...I can't stop complimenting it!

I like the way the Baxxids speak. I always had. It doesn't feel normal to how we speak, but at the same time no one talks like that. I feel like their extensive vocabulary is throwing me off. I can understand what they're saying but it doesn't sound like a normal sentence a human would say. It's tough for me to describe, but it works.
