Personally, i hope they have a healthy adult conversation about how he felt emasculated and freaked out a bit but still really liked her and wanted to apologize.
Seriously these two are literally ONE good conversation away from mending this situation. She either needs to get over her nervousness and confront him (nicely) or he needs to grow a pair and apologize.

This is pretty on point.
Communication is the heart of the problem seen here. Primarily, it's a lack of communcation from our sailor friend. Granted, this largely stemmed from the simple nature of our beloved Isher.
Much as she has the demure nature of a lamb, physically she is quite terrifying. I'd probably be more than a little intimidated by anyone of her build and stature being anywhere near me, unless I knew them extremely well. That's before adding on the factor of those shirt swords on her hands. I can hardly blame this gentleman for his fear.
But if he'd spoken up, he seems the sort who could actually find a delicate way to explain that feeling, and perhaps negotiate being allowed to be the "big" spoon.
Could this be salvaged into a relationship? Maybe. THe man seemed gentuinely pained by his actions. He may not require actual karmic justice to see fit to go and apologize. Merely a few days of having that guilt in his gullet teraring up his insides might cvget that done.
But personally I don't see love in this moment... But perhaps something just as needed for both: A good friend.

Really affected me too. My fiancee had this done to her by an ex-fiance of her own. My solution for Isher would have been to talk things out and see if a solution couldn't be had for those spikes. I'm sure I am not the only one.
That poor woman really needs to have someone take her under her wing and teach her to stick up for herself. That her feelings matter too.

Well, take a positive spin on it, and she could tell he was sincere, but was trying to be nice about it.

I am surprised the amount of people want something to happen to the guy. Yes he did something bad and feels guilty and acknowledged it. He should be given a chance to redeem himself without being told guilty and that's that.
Isher I like alot, she is kind and believes people are generally kind. Yes she is sad, but I hope she grows better as a result!

All I can say is that I'd treat Isher like I treat my 350# fiancee iRL. As a kindly woman that has a great deal of her own beauty and that deserves to be treated kindly in return. As for the big talons, well, that's why God invented leather scabbards. Just have some made for her. Bet that sort of a gift would light her up like the morning sun.
Feel so bad for Isher, honestly.

Man, everyone is like "Pitchforks and Torches to destroy the man!" cause he was "emasculated" or something. I'm over here thinking of the one scene from Beaststars where one of the kids gets his arm ripped off by another kid because of the difference in strength when they were just playing around. It amazes me that Chichi was able to have goku's kid.
Lest ya'll forgets - Semyel literally had a panic attack on the last page. He tried his damndest to calm down and not leave her, but unfortunately his flight response kicked in and there was no fighting that.
The fact that he feels like shit for what happened, that hates himself for hurting someone like Isher is a sign that he's not a horrible person.
