It was a dark and stormy night in the Hundred Acre Wood. Thunder crashed, lightning flashed, and the wind howled outside. We come to Wyuli’s house. It was a fine house in the middle of an oak tree, next to the door was a mailbox that had her name written in black letters. At this time, she was getting ready for bed. And this is where our story begins.
One stormy night, Wyuli the Wolf was getting ready for bed. Brushing her grey, silver-like fur in the mirror, brushing her teeth, and putting on her magenta nightcap on. Suddendly, she saw a bright flash and heard a loud booming sound. It echoed throughout her house, and all across the Hundred Acre Wood. The wind was howling fiercely, and flashes of lightning lit up the house. Before Wyuli got into bed, she looked out of the window of her house and watched the storm.
”Man, what a storm!, I hope it passes in the morning” she said rather sleepily.
And with a yawn, she climbed in her bed, turned out the lights, and fell asleep.
As the storm roared through the night, Wyuli didn’t notice that a lightning bolt struck a nearby tree, causing a large, and very heavy branch to fall with a loud crash in front of her front door, blocking it. However, she didn’t hear it because she was dreaming of performing all sorts of acrobatic stunts for her friends all the way from page 291 to page 310.
The next morning, the sun shown brightly, the birds were singing, and the storm had passed. Wyuli woke up with a loud yawn. “Wow, that was some storm” she said, waking up. ”I do hope that everyone is alright”. She got up from her bed and walked downstairs to the kitchen. Now her house had two entrances, a front door that looked like one you would find in anyone’s house, and a back door that was just a narrow hole in the wall that led outside. It was smaller and narrower than Rabbit’s and she rarely ever used it. “I sure hope everyone is okay” she thought. “I’ll go see if anyone needs help cleaning up any damage from the storm”.
Everyone in the Hundred Acre Wood knew how helpful Wyuli was, she was also very kind, compassionate, and nurturing. Whenever one of her friends need assistance, she will be the first one to lend a helping hand.
After getting breakfast, which comprised of eggs and bacon, Wyuli slowly went to the front door and turned the knob, trying to open it, but the door would not budge. “Oh, come on!” she complained, pushing even harder to try to get the door to open, but no matter how hard she pushed, the door remained shut.
Wyuli sighed as she slumped to the floor in defeat. “Now what am I going to do?” she asked herself. It was just then that she noticed her back door. “Of course, my back door! Why didn’t I think of that”. She examined it more closely, it was rather small, and quite narrow, but she assured herself that she would fit.
“Well, here goes nothing” she said. Wyuli poked her front paws through, followed by her head, and then her slender stomach. She felt the hole get tighter as she crawled through, finding it harder to squeeze out of. “It’s quite snug” she said. Wyuli kept crawling forward until... she came to a sudden halt, her front half was sticking out and her other half was still inside. What she didn’t know was that her hips were too big to fit through. Now, Wyuli wasn't fat by any means, but she did have a little bit of “maturing” in her figure. The wolf noticed this and turned her head around. “Huh?, what’s going on?” she said, a little panicked. Wyuli put her paws on the sides of her house and tried to push herself through, grunting and groaning ,kicking her legs up and down.
She tried to wriggle her way out, but alas, the wolf didn’t budge. She tried going back, bracing her legs on the wall and pulling with all her strength, but she didn’t move at all. Then, in that moment, it hit her. Wyuli gasped and started to panic. “Oh no!“ she said, “I’m stuck!”. After several more unsuccessful attempts in extracting herself, she slumped down and took a breather. “What am I going to do?!“ she panicked. She now knew how her friend, Winnie the Pooh, felt when he got stuck in Rabbit’s door from eating too much honey.
Wyuli knew that she had to get help, and fast. But, she assumed that everyone else was off doing their own things, such as Pooh looking for honey, Piglet cleaning his house, Rabbit tending to his garden, Tigger bouncing all over the place, Kanga and Roo making sweet treats, Owl tending to his library, Gopher digging his tunnels, Christopher Robin was likely at school, and Eeyore being all gloomy in his spot. So, she waited for someone to come by, and waited, and waited some more. Minutes felt like hours, hours felt like days, and so on. After about ten minutes (which felt like ten hours to her), nobody showed up. “I do hope someone comes to my aid soon” Wyuli lamented.
Suddenly, she heard a familiar humming sound. She listened closely and recognized it as one of her close friends, Winnie the Pooh, coming down the trail. This was her chance to get Pooh’s attention. “HELP!!”, she yelled, hoping that he would hear her. Meanwhile, Pooh was thinking of a new hum to go along with his morning walk. Being a bear of very little brain, when he thought of something, he thought in the most thoughtful way possible. “Think, think, think”, he said. Pooh thought and thought, but he couldn’t think of anything. “Oh bother, coming up with words for a new hum is more tricky than I thought it would be.” “I’m sure it is, Pooh” said the narrator.
Up ahead, he saw Wyuli’s house, so Pooh decided to visit his lupine friend. He was about to walk up to the door, when he heard a voice. “HELP!!!”, it came. Pooh was puzzled, and backed away from the door when he heard the sound. “What was that?”, he asked himself, stopping to look to the left and to the right . He wondered if Wyuli’s front door was talking to him, but he suddenly remembered from his encounter with Rabbit that doors don’t talk. He also wondered if it was the wind, but there was no wind today. Then, the sound came again, “HELP!!!”, it said, a bit louder. Pooh listened closely to the voice, it sounded very familiar to him. So, he began searching for the source of the sound, and it didn’t take long to find out that it was his friend, Wyuli, calling for help.
”Hello, Wyuli” said Pooh, walking towards her. “If I may ask, what exactly are you doing in there?”.
Wyuli looked at Pooh and was very relieved that one of her friends had come to help her. “Pooh Bear!, thank goodness you’re here, I really need your help.”, she said, starting to cry.
Pooh looked at the wolf, and judging by her facial expressions, he knew that something was very wrong . “Wyuli, are you okay?” he asked, with a worried tone of voice.
Wyuli tried once again to extract herself from the door, but had no success.
”No“, she replied, bursting into tears. “I’m stuck”. Pooh looked at her and gasped, “You are?, Oh you poor thing” he said, comforting her and then told her, “Don’t you worry, I’ll get you out”. Wyuli started to wipe the tears from her eyes. “You will?, oh, thank you, Pooh!” she sniffled. Pooh smiled and patted her head, ”You’re quite welcome, and besides, what are friends for, Wyuli?”, he replied with a chuckle. “Here, give me your paws” said Pooh, holding his own paws out for Wyuli to grab.
Wyuli extended her front paws to Pooh and grabbed onto his own paws, holding on tightly.
After grabbing them, Pooh began to pull really hard, trying to unwedge the poor wolf. As he pulled, Wyuli’s body stretched out like a rubber band. “Mmff!!“ she grunted, feeling the strain from Pooh’s attempt to uncork her. “Pull...harder... Pooh..” she said, still groaning. “I’m trying!” he said, planting his foot on the oak tree to get more leverage. Pooh pulled, and he pulled, and he pulled as hard as he could . But alas, Wyuli didn’t budge an inch from her back door, so he stopped to catch his breath. ”It’s no use, Pooh!” she said, starting to cry again. “I’m stuck”.
Pooh felt terrible for Wyuli, he didn’t like seeing his friends so sad, and he knew the feeling of being wedged in a great tightness before, having gotten stuck in Rabbit’s front door a couple years ago. He then looked at the wedged wolf, staring into her teary black eyes and said reassuringly with a grin, “Don’t cry, Wyuli, you’ll get out”. Winnie the Pooh wondered how she got stuck in the first place, so he decided to ask her. “How did this even happen?”. “Well..” Wyuli started, trying to contain her tears, “I tried to go out of my house through the front door, but it wouldn’t open for some reason, so then I tried crawling out through my back door, and as you can see, I got stuck”.
Pooh looked at her, pondered for a while, and said, “Is that so?, then something must be blocking your front door, wait here, I’ll be right back”. So he ran to her front door, only to notice the large tree branch that was blocking it. “So that’s why she couldn’t open her door” he thought to himself. He put his paws on the branch and pushed with all of his might, but he couldn’t move it, the branch was too heavy. “I’m going to need help to get Wyuli out of there” he said to himself. Pooh then ran back to the wedged wolf and explained to her that there was a very large tree branch blocking her front door.
Wyuli was shocked and surprised, “How bad is it?” she asked with concern.
“It’s pretty bad” said Pooh, “We’re going to need help to move it and get you out of your back door”.
”You’re right, Pooh” said Wyuli, “We are going to need everyone’s help”.
”Then stay right there, I’m going to get the others“ he said.
Wyuli was relieved that her friend said those words. “Please hurry, Pooh!” she said.
”Don’t worry, I will” said Pooh. With that said, he ran off to find his friends.
Wyuli was now alone, and rather frustrated with herself. “When this is all and over, I am going to ask Gopher to widen my back door so this never happens again” she said to herself.
In addition to being frustrated, she was also very scared, “What if can never get out of here?” she said, crying with soft sobs.
”Well looks like you got yourself into quite a situation” said a man’s voice.
“Who are you” asked Wyuli, looking at the viewer.
”Why, my dear, i’m the narrator “ he said.
Wyuli paused for a bit and asked “Mr. Narrator, do you know how long it will be until help comes?”
”Be patient, Wyuli, help is on the way”, said the narrator.
”I hope so” she replied, sobbing.
On the other side of the Hundred Acre Wood on page 320, Pooh was running to Piglet’s house as fast as his legs would go. When he arrived, he noticed Piglet raking leaves in his yard. “Hello, Piglet” he said to his best friend. “Oh, why hello there Pooh”, replied Piglet who had stopped raking. “What brings you here?”. Pooh then told him about Wyuli’s situation and that she needed help getting out. “Oh d-d-d-dear” replied Piglet, stuttering. “I hope she’s alright, I’d better help her since she’s my friend and friends help each other”. Pooh smiled at him and said “Well come on then, let’s get the others so that we can free her, and afterwards, we shall have a small smackerel of honey”.
And with that, Pooh and Piglet went on their way to find their friends.
They told Tigger, Kanga, Roo, Eeyore, and all their friends all about Wyuli’s situation and offered their assistance to help free her. All of them gladly accepted their offer, and headed to her house. Gopher, on the other hand, kept getting lost trying to find her house, a consequence for not bringing a map. He tunneled left, right, and in all different directions. Then Gopher came to a fork in his tunnels, one path went to the left and the other one went to the right. He didn’t know which way to go. “Hmm, better go left, it seems like the safe wayyyyyyyyyyyyy!”. Unfortunately, Gopher fell in a hole that he used to trap robbers and landed with a loud crash. “I’m okay!” he said, weakly.
Meanwhile, back at the scene of the misfortune, Wyuli was sobbing, albiet very softly.
“Oh, I do hope Pooh comes back soon”, she said with tears coming down her eyes.
Just as she thought that help would never come, she heard footsteps and a springing sound coming her way. She looked up and saw all of her friends approaching her home. ”Over here!”,she shouted, waving her paws to get their attention .
Pooh and all of his friends then saw her and ran as fast as they could, or in Tigger’s case, bounced, sending words of encouragement to their lupine friend.
”Cheer up, Wolf-Ears, we’re a coming, hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!” said Tigger, bouncing with enthusiasm.
”Fear not, Wyuli, we’ll get you out of there soon!“ said Rabbit, running behind Tigger.
”Hang on Wyuli, we’ll have you free!” said Kanga and Christopher Robin.
”Don’t worry, we’ll have you out by lunchtime“ said Pooh.
”Don’t cry, we’ll help you” said Roo and Piglet.
”We shall have you extracted before you know it” said Owl.
”Maybe, maybe not, but we’ll try.” said gloomy old Eeyore, following suit.
Soon everyone had arrived at Wyuli’s back door.
She was very excited that help had arrived.
“You guys, I knew you would come, I just knew it!” she replied, sniffling.
Christopher Robin was the first one to speak, kneeling down to her level. “Wyuli, Pooh told me everything. We all have bad days, even I do sometimes” he said sympathetically, tussling her forehead.
Upon hearing this, Wyuli gave a sad smile, ”You do?“ she sniffled.
”Of course“ said everyone except Wyuli in unison. They went on telling stories about their bad day, such as Pooh telling his story about being chased by bees while trying to get more honey, Rabbit telling his story about his garden getting bounced by Tigger, and Piglet telling his story about being flown like a kite on a very windy day.
The wolf was touched by the stories and tears of joy started to flow down her cheeks, she wiped them away, but they kept on forming.
“You guys are the best friends I ever had in my entire life, and if I haven‘t met you, I would be all alone in those Scary Woods.“ said Wyuli, still tearing up. “You’re like family to me, and nothing makes me happier than seeing all my friends here, helping me when I need it the most”.
Christopher Robin smiled back, and gave her a comforting hug, the wolf hugging him in return. “You silly wolf”, he chuckled.
Owl then soon joined Christopher Robin, followed by Rabbit, then Tigger, and finally all of the others were in the group hug.
Afterwards, Eeyore spoke up, “This is nice and all, but shouldn’t we focus on getting Wyuli out?” he said gloomily.
Owl cleared his throat, “Yes, Yes, you’re quite right Eeyore” he said.
Soon all of them were thinking of a plan on how to get Wyuli out.
They decided the first thing to do was to get rid of the large branch blocking her front door.
Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Rabbit, and Kanga went to the front of Wyuli’s house to help move the branch , while Christopher Robin, Owl, Roo, and Piglet waited for them to finish. It was quite a struggle, but they managed to unblock her door. They huddled back together and decided that Christopher Robin, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Kanga, and Roo would pull on Wyuli’s front while Rabbit pushed on her bottom. Owl and Piglet decided to oversee the operation so that everything went right.
Then, everyone got into their positions. Christoper Robin grabbed both of Wyuli’s paws, Pooh grabbed Christopher’s waist, Tigger grabbed Pooh, Kanga grabbed on Tigger, Eeyore took Kanga’s tail, and Roo did the same with Eeyore. Inside, Rabbit put his hands onto Wyuli’s bottom and got ready to push.
“Don’t worry, Wyuli” said Christopher Robin. “We’ll get you out”.
Wyuli gave a weak smile upon hearing those words.
“Everyone ready?” said Rabbit, whose voice was muffled, but could still be heard from outside. “When I count to three, I’ll push from this end while you pull from the other end, got it?”.
”Got it!” said everyone outside.
”All right, on three“ said Rabbit.
“One.. Two... Three!”
And with that, the tug of war began, with Rabbit pushing and the others pulling at the front. Christopher Robin planted his foot on the outside of the oak tree to get more leverage. They pulled and pushed, heaved, and shoved as hard as they could. Wyuli was stretched out farther than she had ever been before. “Hnnggg!, Mmmf!” she groaned, feeling the strain. At first glance, it looked like nothing was working, until Wyuli started to budge very slowly. “I’m... moving... keep...going” she said, groaning and grunting. Before long, Wyuli was almost out of the hole when Rabbit backed up and rammed into her bottom. On the outside, Christopher Robin and the others gave her one last heave. She flew out of the hole with a *pop* and tumbled into her friends, who ended up in a giant pile.
”You did it! I’m free!” she said with excitement and happiness.
Rabbit soon went around to join the others.
”Is everyone all right?” he asked.
”Yes, indeed I am” said Winnie the Pooh.
”I’m just Tiggerific!” said Tigger.
”Never felt better” said Eeyore.
Soon, everyone got on their feet and Wyuli had this to say to them.
”Guys, it was really tough trying to get me out, but i knew that all of you could do it”.
She then looked at Pooh, then at Christopher Robin, followed by Eeyore, Tigger, Roo, Kanga, and finally Rabbit. Wyuli was so happy that she gave them the largest group hug she ever gave them.
”Thank you so much, all of you” she said, with tears of joy.
”You’re very welcome” said Christopher Robin.
“Hey, has anyone seen Gopher?” asked Wyuli.
As soon as she asked, he emerged from the ground and was surprised to see what was going on.
“Am I late?” he asked everyone, whistling his syllables .
They nodded and he replied, “Dag nabbit, I knew I should of turned right at the fork”.
Wyuli laughed at her friend’s mix up, and so did the others, even Gopher himself got a few chuckles in.
Soon, it was time for everyone to go home.
”Well, I gotta go everyone, have a lot of bouncing to do, hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!”, “TTFN, ta-ta for now!” said Tigger to everyone as he bounced away.
”Goodbye, Tigger!”, said Wyuli, waving to her bouncy friend.
”Well, I better get back to my garden” said Rabbit. ”Those vegetables won’t harvest themselves”. And with that said, he hopped away.
”Thanks for noticing me everyone” said Eeyore.
”Good-bye, and thanks for helping me” said Wyuli.
”Happy to help” said the donkey, walking back to his house.
”B-B-bye Wyuli!” said Piglet, waving goodbye to his friend.
”Bye!, and thank you so much for helping me!” said Wyuli, waving back as Piglet went home.
”So long, Wyuli, maybe we’ll have tea sometime?” said Owl, flapping his wings and flying back to his home.
”I’d like that, Owl” said Wyuli, saying goodbye.
”See you, Wyuli!, be sure to come over and see my cartwheel!” said Roo.
Wyuli chuckled, “I’ll be looking forward to it, bye” she replied.
”Until next time, Wyuli!” said Kanga as she bounced away with Roo.
”Bye! I’ll see you tomorrow!” said Wyuli.
The only ones left at Wyuli’s house were Pooh, Gopher, Christopher Robin, and of course, Wyuli herself. She then told Gopher that she got stuck in her back door and asked him to widen it, which he happily agreed to do, and got right to work.
For the rest of the day, Pooh, Christopher Robin, and Wyuli just relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Hundred Acre Wood. Wyuli got to show Christopher a couple of her acrobatics, which he enjoyed a lot.
A couple of hours later, the sun was setting and Pooh, Wyuli, and Christopher Robin were watching it from a hill. Wyuli broke the silence and said to Christopher Robin, “Thank you for helping me when I was in trouble. It shows that you really care for me”. Christopher smiled his biggest smile yet, “You’re very welcome, Wyuli” he replied, “You’re just as special as everyone here in the Hundred Acre Wood and I’m very happy to be your friend”. She ran up to the boy and gave him a great big hug, in which Christopher did so too. “Well, it’s getting late, I better head on home now” said Wyuli. “Goodbye, Christopher Robin, Good-bye Pooh!” she told them as she went home.
”Goodbye, Wyuli“ said Pooh and Christopher Robin.
”You know, Christopher” said Pooh to his friend. “I really think that every day is special in the Hundred Acre Wood”. Christopher laughed at his best friend and replied, “Of course it is”. ”But do you know what the best part of every day is?” asked Pooh. “What might that be?” replied Christopher. “Hanging out with you” said Pooh, giving his friend a hug. Christopher Robin laughed and hugged Pooh back as they watched the sunset together. “Silly old bear” he muttered.
A few days later, Wyuli’s back door was finished with the necessary renovations and was finally large enough for her to pass through without trouble and she didn’t get stuck since then .
And that ends the story of how Wyuli got stuck in her back door.
