GAH! This page. THIS page. Is seriously in my top three pages of the whole comic so far. Its not obvious about the final panel, but martin is almost holding Star by the write rather than her hand directly. So he's leading her. My Daddy does this to me Or he makes me just hold a couple of his fingers (my hands are much smaller than his) both of these make it feel more like a parent/child relationship rather than a couples things. for me at least.

The thing about Martin that is fascinating me is how he does all of this.
Asking to hold hands on a date? That's totally a thing, but he's also doing it in a way that is a positive-trigger for Star.
He's also been asking along the way, making sure he's not over stepping at any point.
Martin is leading, but every step of the way he's making sure Star WANTS him to lead. It is her choice in letting him do so.
I just think that's kinda neat.

Thats the way it should be done really. Like in any powerplay dynamic truthfully its the submissive role that kinda holds a lot of the real power. Being a dominant/master or a daddy/mummy isnt really about just having control over someone its facilitating the ability to allow someone to open up and be vulnerable to you and then wanting to be vunerable for you. and them trusting that if they are vulnerable for you that you will keep them safe....hmmm not sure I explained that very well...yeah I really mangled that hahaha.
Oh, my goddess.. Star.. You are amazing! I have a daddy sire who takes care of me and he does this too. I may be just a middle but things like this melts me. It is perfect.. completely perfect. It is his way to show that she is safe and is okay to talk about things without worrying about the hellish world around them. *hugs* I hope you are doing good, Star!
