“Yes, finally!” Mal practically yelled as he yanked the large package off his doorstep into his house. It had taken years, but now he finally had a transformation suit of his own!
After carefully opening the box, Mal lifted up the green mass of rubbery material that it contained and let it unfold to the floor. The suit was even more amazing to behold than he had imagined! It was an anthropomorphic green dragon suit with yellow stripes and a golden scaled underbelly. Large wings and a long tail drove home its draconic look, but the fluffy white hair on its head and tail tip were what make it unique.
Mal couldn’t help but smile as he took in all of the suit’s details. It looked exactly like Alys, a somewhat legendary figure who had created thousands of suits like these. They said that Alys was a living suit himself, but unlike the suit that Mal was holding, Alys was a fully sapient being who had been trying to figure out the secrets of his creation. Alys had only managed to create simple transformation suits like this one rather than intelligent ones such as himself, but creations had an incredible effect on the world of cosplay and the furry fandom.
After bringing the suit to his room Mal switched to a lighter set of clothes that he could more easily wear under the suit. From what he had heard the billions of biomechanical cells which made up the suit were somehow able to produce a reality altering effect, and since reality was being altered it didn’t matter what he wore under it. He couldn’t even begin to understand how the thing was supposedly able to create an alternate reality to transform the wearer, but he didn’t care as long as it turned him into a dragon!
Shaking with excitement, Mal opened up the seam on the costume’s chest and slipped his legs inside. The feeling of the cool rubber-like texture made it hard for him to believe that the suit was a living thing. He hoped that the person he had purchased it from hadn’t actually sent him a fake, but he doubted that fake would look so incredible. With any luck, he’d be able to hang out with his friends as an anthropomorphic dragon soon!
It took Mal about a minute to get into the costume. It was extremely loose fitting, and its empty wings and tail hung limply off of him. Realising that the seam along the costume’s belly was still open, he pressed its edges together in an effort to close it. Much to his relief, the suit immediately sealed itself shut, and within moments he started feeling odd sensations throughout his body. Mal breathed a sigh of relief now that he knew he had not wasted his money and tried to relax as much as he could as the transformation began.
A pulse that shot through Mal’s body almost made him fall over. After another pulse happened he realized that the suit was feeling tighter. It felt like something was pushing or pulling his body outwards into the costume in waves. His hands were fitting into its gloves, his feet were becoming more reptilian, and even his face had begun stretching outwards into the suit’s mask. Soon the pulses got stronger, and he felt new appentages growing from his body to fill in the suit’s wings and tails.
The transformation proved to be too much for Mal, so with groan he fell to his knees as he waited for it to finish. The costume became tighter and tighter, becoming like a second skin. Feeling his new wings and tail filling in the costume was an incredibly strange sensation for him, but he was thankful that it wasn’t painful. He couldn’t help but wonder if his wings and tail had torn a hole in the clothes he was wearing under the suit, but it was hard for him to know for sure because of the costume’s reality warping powers.
Eventually his body stopped shifting, and Mal awkwardly stood up and examined himself in a mirror. An anthropomorphic dragon looked back. Aside from his new wings, tail, and snout, the changes to his body were fairly minor and cosmetic. His chest had a more reptilian shape, and his hands and his newly digitigrade feet were far more reptilian. Despite the lack of truly dramatic changes he felt like a completely different creature. The sensation of being being a half dragon felt exhilarating, and he couldn’t help but pose and rawr at the mirror a few times.
It obviously wasn’t a complete transformation, since there were various telltale signs that he was still a man in a costume. Mal’s human eyes were still visible, a little bit of skin could be seen around the edges of the suit’s mouth. He could also still feel that he was wearing a costume, and he even felt most of the clothing he was wearing under the suit. Even so, he had not expected a full transformation anyway. Supposedly, these suits had been set with certain limitations to keep people from being transformed too much because of the risk of losing themselves.
After he got over how good the costume looked, Mal realized that he was feeling uncomfortable. The costume felt incredibly tight Instead of simply being a second skin like it should. Stretching and trying to shift it didn’t seem to help, and in fact he began starting to feel claustrophobic. Even though he wanted to stay in the suit he found himself reaching for the seam on the front, but found that it was missing. The lack of a zipper meant that the suit was supposed to respond to his desire to remove it, but it didn’t seem to be heeding him!
After a few moments, the room he was in started feeling too small as well. He felt like the walls were closing in on him, and Mal rushed outside to get rid of the terrible feeling.
Once he got to his backyard, Mal started feeling better. The rubbery suit still felt too tight, but at least the walls of his house didn’t feel like they were going to crush him now. “This thing… must be defective.” He said as he tried to catch his breath. The price he had gotten the costume for seemed too good to be true, and the fact that it was based on Alys had seemed a bit odd at the time as well. He wondered if the suit was some sort of derivative work rather than an official one made by the company that was supposed to be making these things.
A sudden pulse that rocked his body interrupted Mal’s thoughts, and he fell to his knees again. Then he felt his body seem to stretch and grow as another pulse went through him. The suit got even tighter and strained under the sudden pressure. “What the hell?” Mal yelled and tried unsuccessfully to get the costume off again.
The suit didn’t open, but the pressure it was applying seemed to be lessening as if it was stretching out a bit. However, the reduced pressure quickly went away as another wave of transformation stretched Mal’s body again. He looked at his torso, and saw that it was becoming longer and more snake like. His wings and tail were growing as well, and he could swear that his neck was more flexible than it was supposed to be. The rubbery costume was visibly stretching because of his increased size, but it didn’t show any signs of tearing.
“Oh no no no!” Mal cried out as he realized what was happening. It was clear to him that the suit was turning him into a feral dragon, but that wasn’t supposed to happen with anthropomorphic suits like this one! Feral suits were supposed to have a permanent feral shape. The fact that this was was transforming him in such an awkward manner meant that it either had been tampered with or was defective. As much as he would have liked to have a feral dragon suit, he knew that he needed to get this one off before something bad happened.
The suit didn’t seem to care about what he wanted. The transformation came faster and stronger; far stronger than when it had turned him into an anthro. With each wave of shapeshifting he came grew larger and the suit stretched to accommodate him. Mal tried to stand so he could go find some sort of help, but he fell over on all fours instead. His legs had unexpectedly become quadruped, and between that and the way his limbs kept reshaping he couldn’t move the way he wanted to. All he could do was spasm in the grass and dirt as he was mercilessly reshaped by his second skin.
Loud cracks and the sound of grinding bones continued reaching Mals ears as the transformation forcefully progressed. Mal’s body and neck stretched out, and his legs became thicker and stronger. His wings, which had been too small for flight before, grew far larger and more powerful. The suit itself started to loose its rubbery sheen and began seeming more lifelike. Once his general shape as a feral dragon had formed, the transformation seemed to slow down and Mal found that he could control his body again.
Mal shakily stood on all fours and tested walking as a feral, pausing and bracing himself as each additional wave of changes hit him. At first he had intended to go find some help, but something about being able to move like an animal excited him. He knew that he should be terrified of wearing this defective thing, but the way it was fulfilling one of his lifelong dreams was making him hesitate.
As the transformation continued his humanoid hands turned into clawed paws, and his tail swiftly became longer than the rest of his entire body. In the corner of his eyes he saw that his house seemed to be shrinking. He was becoming so large that he probably could not fit through a door, and was thankful that the suit had driven him outside first. Soon, even the sensation that he was even wearing a suit began to fade away, and Mal realized to both his horror and excitement that it had probably started replacing his skin. Within moments he didn’t feel like he was a man in a suit, or even a dragon shaped man in a suit. He was a dragon, and the exhilarating feeling that accompanied this made him forget how painful the transformation had been.
The dragon roared in excitement and began testing his body as soon as the transformation finished. He couldn’t believe how great he felt! After walking up to one of his house’s tiny windows and looking at his reflection he saw that there was no longer any sign that he had been a human. Even his eyes had changed into a deep blood red color. Despite this, he didn’t feel like he had lost his human self. It was more like a few basic instincts had simply been added to his brain so that he wouldn’t trip over himself.
As Mal began to wonder what to do next, he suddenly felt the urge to take flight. Not questioning the urge, he immediately kicked off and beat his powerful wings. The newly formed wings strained under the sudden pressure, but were more than powerful enough to carry him. The feeling of flight was even more amazing than he had imagined, and he spent some time lost in the freedom and sensations that he felt.
Several miles from his home, Mal looked down and realized that he had reached a park that he was familiar with. The keen eyes of his new form easily picked out several other suiters among the many humans who were having fun down below. For a brief moment he became worried about what people would think if they saw him like this, but his anxiety was quickly pushed away by the sudden desire to greet his fellow suiters.
He dove down and landed in front of a group of them, which included a grey furred wolf, a two tailed kitsune, and what looked like a dolphin. All of them were anthros, and Mal was surprised to realize that due to his increased size they would probably able to ride on his back if they wanted to. They seemed surprised and frightened by his appearance, and Mal could hear the gasps and screams of dozens of humans that saw him come down.
“Greetings!” Mal said to them in an effort to calm them down, “It is a nice day for wearing costumes, isn’t it? He was surprised by how deep his voice had become after the transformation.
The three suiters looked at each other in confusion, before the wolf seemed to gather the courage to speak. “Wait, are you wearing a feral suit?” He said in awe, “How are you so large? I have not seen a feral become much larger than a horse before!”
The reminder that his suit was technically not behaving properly made Mal frown, but he quickly drove that thought from his mind, “This suit is… special. You can’t imagine how good this feels though!”
“Where did you get that suit?” The dolphin said hesitantly with a conflicted look on his face, “Do you think they make any that are like mine?”
“Wait, phin!” The kitsune suddenly interjected as she twitched her tails anxiously, “You can’t be serious. Even if you could afford a feral suit, dolphins doesn’t even have limbs. How would you even remove the suit?”
Mal was about to say that he got his suit off of an online auction site when a strange thought wormed its way into his mind. Somehow, he felt like he could gift these people with the same thing that he had, but that he needed to surprise them with it. “It is a bit of a secret, but if you come closer I could tell you...”
After whispering to each other for a moment, the three suiters hesitantly walked closer to the green dragon. As they came close enough, Mal took a deep breath and exhaled at them. Instead of air, a cloud of green smoke flew out of his mouth and engulfed the trio. They coughed and gasped as they inhaled the fumes, and scattered as they tried to get away from him.
Mel started to realize that something was wrong. “What...what have I done?” He asked out loud, “I am so sorry!” He violently shook his head to try and clear the haze that had overtaken him.
“What the hell?” The wolf yelled in between his coughs, “Why did you… ugg!” His words were interrupted as he suddenly doubled over in some sort of spasm. The surface of his costume suddenly rippled unnaturally as if it was being reshaped by some unseen force.
The other two suiters seemed to be having similar problems. The kitsune had been forced onto all fours, and the dolphin didn’t seem to be able to stand up at all. All three of them were trying to take their costumes off, but none of them seemed to be able to find any seams to open.
“My arms and legs, they’re stuck!” The dolphin suiter cried out. Indeed, it seemed as if his arms had fused to his sides and his legs were sticking onto his tail.
Mal watched in horror as the dolphin’s entire body suddenly pulsed and his limbs were slowly absorbed into his body. Meanwhile, cracking sounds signaled that the wolf and kitsune were becoming quadrupeds. Their hands were changing into paws, and their spines had realigned so that their heads were facing upwards.
For a brief moment a feeling of happiness entered Mal’s mind, like he had done something good for these three. However, this time he realized that this thought wasn’t his own, and that it was his suit influencing him somehow. He shook his head to try and clear his mind. “I’m… so sorry!”
In a bout of shame and fear, Mal took flight and got away from the trio as quickly as he could. He was afraid that his suit was going to make him do some other terrible thing like transforming some other suiter or maybe even eating someone. The thing was, he had no idea of what to do now. He couldn’t get the dragon suit off of him, and he had no idea of how to find the person that sold it to him. Even going home wasn’t an option since he couldn’t fit in the doors!
More strange urges entered his mind as he flew and Mal did his best to ignore them. Now that he was aware that he was being influenced it was a bit easier to control himself. However, he had no way of knowing if he would be able to stay sane for very long. He needed to find help, but the question was: where?
An idea suddenly formed in Mal’s mind, but he wasn’t sure if it belonged to him or the dragon suit that he was wearing. If he could find Alys’ company that made the more generic versions of these things there was a chance that they could turn him back. However, it also carried the risk that he would end up infecting all of the suits there as well...

Thanks! Yea, it wasn't that he would not have liked to have a feral suit. He became worried because the way that his suit transformed him it made it seem like it was malfunctioning or something. Do you think I could have explained that better in the story?
