He uses a lot of angles to buffer / extend the time. He only uses 1 animation so to get the most out of it, he has to use more angles. Understandable since he wanted to be more efficient with his time and why he switched to dream scenes from what ifs.

Dream scenes in general are a waste of my time imo. Slightly off topic, but I've noticed a lot of devs use them as a way to insert a sex scene before it makes sense for the two characters to be having sex, or to do something extreme without having an impact on the plot. It's frowned upon in general storytelling

and I think it's even worse in erotic writing.

Erotic writing is all about the stakes. Think about a creampie when you've been told the character is on birth control versus when you've been told that the character is ovulating and has saying they should be using a condom. The former is like a 2 on the kink scale, the latter is a 10.

It especially stings when you remember that the pointless dream sequence you just watched ate up 20 hours of development time :cry:

I get all just a dream trope, but WWG did have rules that characters that have not yet had a sex scene could not be requested for what ifs. He only just recently changed it to any character goes for dream scenes because they are probably so unimpactful in content.

Totally understand. What I'm saying is keep the time where it is at but cut some angles. For example, say he uses 12 different angles for a dream scene, I say he can still make a great scene with only 6-8 different angles. Then you just cycle those and change speed. Another example, Hunters bad end with Ophelia in chapter 10, when he is taking her from behind. That position has 3 angles to it. All three great. I just think if you extend the time which some angles are on the screen for, he won't need to use as much and it can be slightly better.

I thought Dream Scenes 1 & 2 were pretty good at least. I was surprised that Tsukiko even won the poll for 3. Sure she's hot, but we know so little about her. It almost defeats the purpose of these adult games, which is to say: porn, but with story. It felt like a wasted opportunity to me.

WWG does them as a monthly reward to top supporters, so they're not a waste per se. He spends minimal time on them compared to the old What Ifs, basically just one animation and zero dialogue.

I think you're right. Characters introduced this late in the game probably won't get much story/development, so they might as well be fair game for bonus content.

SEAN's sleepover. Sterling invites his buddy SEAN over to play some video games when a news bulletin flashes across the screen. an tornado is ripping through the city. SEAN has no way home. Sterling ask OPHELIA if he can spend the night that way he won't be out in the storm. She agrees. Later that night SEAN gets up to take a piss. He hears some moans coming from OPHELIA's room and peeks in. To his surprise, he sees Sterling pounding OPHELIA. SEAN heads to the door but is stopped by BRENNA. They both looked at each other wondering who's in there with OPHELIA. They both bust in and fine Sterling is the one banging OPHELIA. BRENNA and SEAN look at each and smile. moments later they join in on the fun.

THIS is one of my dream scenes.

STILL IN THE JUNGLE??? sterling is locked up back in a cage with a full view of Hunter, and the Elder pounding Brenna blissfully. Cathy and OPEHLIA are getting pounded by the other tribesman. HUNTER and BRENNA are having their honeymoon night, but there is a special tribal tradition that they are about to find out. the tribal elder has to join HUNTER in breaking in his new wife, BRENNA. She's in for a long night.

This is the other dream scene.

Jeez. 175 animations in just under 30% of completion. So I'm guessing Ch. 12 is probably going to have anywhere from 400-500 new animations (maybe even more who knows). WWG seems to be the only dev grinding at the moment o_O

Hot take maybe?

Not trying to shit on WWG I've been a supporter for a long time but I have to say it

Animations have gotten worse not better... the 3 dream scenes have really showed that for me especially the last one. I'm not a Daz guy but I've played more than enough games to know the animations just aren't moving naturally and are almost uncanny valley.

Ill die on this hill because it really has ruined PV for me sadly.
