Hi there.
Well, since I'm trying to be more active on here again, I think it's time to change the tone of this intro message a bit.
If some of my art looks familiar to you, it's because I had an account on here not too long ago. However, during some pretty dark times in 2020, I wound up deleting the account after seeing something on here that, I'll be honest, made me ashamed to be part of the fandom.
It was a knee-jerk reaction to be sure, but as the months went by, I found myself missing the art, stories, and photos I used to peruse here. For better or worse, FA is one of, if not THE major hub of furry art out there.
So I created this new account, but again, it was partially out of anger, hence the rather terse intro I had. That being said, I'm still going to try and abide by my three rules for art, stories, or journal entries:
Rule 1: No politics
Rule 2: No Religion
Rule 3: No Current Events*
Rule 3 is starred because some current events don't necessarily break the first two rules, so those I *might* vent about at some point.
The fandom is what you make it. I forgot that simple philosophy in my anger and it's taken me a while to realize that again.

So, Let's Talk Impostor Syndrome
I like to write.
I'm admittedly not as prolific as a lot of folks, but it's a hobby I enjoy. I have days where I can go all day just letting my fingers fly over the keyboard or write until I have to refill my fountain pen, but more often than not, life gets in the way. I have a job that's mentally draining, so most days I'm a bit of a zombie at the end, and just want to do nothing. But, some days the muse gets restless and the ideas come faster than I can put them down.
So when something's finally done and I'm ready to release it to the world, there's a sense of relief that it's done. However, there's something else that creeps in...a feeling that even though I worked hard on something, it's going to be at best ignored, at worst dragged for not checking everyone's boxes. There's that insatiable desire to go back and re-do everything because it's not good enough, and even a temptation to just chuck the whole thing, forget about writing, and just spend my time playing video games.
That's me most of the time: a major sufferer of Impostor Syndrome.
This is why that December 23, 2024 (yes, this journal's a day late. Don't judge me) is going to be a big day for me from now on. Why? Because it's the day that I finally...FINALLY...published something. I'll grant you, it's not on one of the major furry publishers (yet), but it's out there for public consumption and - this is the scary part - scrutiny.
Yes, it finally happened: 'Oucast' is now available as an ebook from Scribl.com (Formerly Podiobooks.com) The audio version is coming, now that I have a decent sound booth to work with. I just need to take the time to record it.
But yeah. I finally finished a goal that I set out to do a very long time ago. Now it's time to open that new file, crack my knuckles, and get back to work on the 2nd novel in the series.
Oh crap, before I forget...here's the link to 'Outcast' on Scribl: https://scribl.com/books/EC2954/Outcast Yes, it's free for now, but as more people 'buy' it, the price will go up. It's not much, but it's a start.
