Hello, I’m Rishu, or here on FA where usernames can’t change, Cesula (the the nerdy Latin translation of Rishu) :p.

I am an ‘androgyne transfem’. While irl I use they/them and for anyone willing xe/xer pronouns, here and BlueSky (@MorisatoRishu), I’ve adopted she/her, same as my fursona and embracing the significant feminine part of myself that has been subdued for so long. Either are fine.

[ As of late 2024 much of what follows is five years old, from when I first accepted myself as a fur. I would like to update it sooner than later, but in some aspects happily, in some aspects, unhappily, much of the information remains accurate. I’m making a few tweaks for the most egregious differences, but leaving it alone as much as possible for now until I can come back later and better update it.]

I was raised from birth white-evangelical (white fundamentalist cult) and as an adult was headed deeper and deeper down the proverbial rabbit-hole of fundy’ism before the deck of cards that was my worldview collapsed as I began to realize how much of what I had been taught and believed was a lie. Sooo, now I have been gradually discovering who I really am as I shed the lies of my upbringing and work through the consequences of spiritual abuse.

I am a data analyst with a strong meteorology focus and I love (unsurprisingly) the weather, especially wind, rain, drizzle, fog, grey skies, snow, and thunderstorms.

My favorite season is autumn, followed closely by winter.

I am separated from my partner partner of over 20 years and have half a dozen kids (yay quiverfull) between late elementary and high school aged.

I’m a writer currently working on my first novel.

I am an ISFJ / 5w6, ADHD, pansexual (neptunic), and if you’re familiar with the Insights Discovery personality assessment, I am Green, Blue / Red, Yellow. I am polyamorous, but currently taking time to myself to as I learn and begin recovering from a lifetime of narcissistic (or narcissistic-like) abuse my from parents, faith community, and intimate partner.

If you‘ve read through the Chronicles of Narnia books, I am Puddleglum’ish, or in the world of the 100 acre wood the love child of Rabbit and Eyore. As you may imagine, I am rather shy, I struggle with accepting complements, and anxiety is way, way too familiar a companion. Once I feel safe with someone I open up and can be very talkative at times.

I love being in the quiet and secluded outdoors, forests, rivers and streams, and mountains.

I enjoy antiques that I have some personal connection with, however tenuous.

I love photography and wish like hell I could convert the pictures in my mind into drawings or paintings. All you artists who can draw, sculpt, or paint, I stand in awe of your ability! :)

I love art raffles, as a means of seeing and then following such a wide variety of artists, supporting artists (especially ones newer to a platform), and all with a slight chance of gift art (which as money for personal enjoyment is always tight with our large family, is nice).

I am fairly new to game consoles (XBox One, PS4) and games with RP or narrative fiction elements. (Prey, Outer Worlds, Oxenfree, Finding Edith Finch, After Party, Life is Strange, looking forward to playing Life is Strange 2, Witcher, and Deathloop). Currently not actively playing :(.

I use Oxford comma without shame, and might have used Papyrus unironicly… more than once.

Enjoy cooking, fermenting, eating, and drinking good food. I think I could live off of cider, bread, and cheese.

I love stories and the art and science of storytelling, especially (but not exclusively) fantasy -> hard sci-fi with a generous helping of cosmic horror in between. I also really enjoy interactive fiction / CYOA (e.g. And the Sun Went Out, And Their Souls Were Eaten)
