This month has been kind of rough, art-wise. I didn't make most of the goals I made for myself, and that sucks. There's not much else to say there really.

I wanted to get 2 comic commissions complete, as well as 3 pages of EotP done, but instead I got hit with fatigue and computer problems, throwing my workflow a little off.

I had been using Krita on desktop for quite a while now, but my main computer had decided to be a little baby and I'm now on a backup of sorts, but the backup simply can't run the tablet I use. I haven’t been posting online much because of them, but I’ll try to get back into doing that. Dumb tech issues, ultimately not important. Fatigue issues come and go, I try to narrow down what might be causing them but unfortunately there hasn’t been anything concrete.

Basically I’m just dishing out excuses as to why not that much art gone done / posted this month.

BUT NEXT MONTH I’m feeling more confident about.

For August, I’ll be only working with Art Studio Pro on the iPad, just to simplify things a bit. I’m going to work on one project at a time, as opposed to trying to juggle them, that way they can get DONE, and OUT THE DOOR. Ideally, I’m going to be looking into shading styles as I haven’t been very satisfied with the current ‘simple flatting’ style of shading. I’m happy with the line-art brushes, but I haven’t work on shading aspects almost at all. I also want to add TRADITIONAL styled commissions / artwork in general. I want to offer it, and honestly I’d like to do more of traditional work than digital.

Traditional work involves paper, pencils, pens/inks and markers, and I think it would be cool to put together a timelapse thing as well, though I’m not quite sure how I’d set that up at the moment.

So, for August I’ll be doing doodles and sketches as usual, EotP Pages 16, 17, 18, the 2 comic commissions and other smaller commissions. I will always prioritize commissions above any other art ‘project’, and since I never actually close commissions, it gets a little funky to balance what I work on sometimes, and also delays EotP pages more, heh.
