You joke, but people treat events such as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the USSR like ancient history, and those only happened about 30 years ago, so 50 years, to many of today's youth, IS basically ancient times. XD

That's what happens when the average lifespan is about 70-80. Get, like, three generations in the span of a century. Doesn't help that technology has advanced so rapidly, too. Makes things seem further in the past.

Solarin actually has an example in the world, it's called the Ashen Lands. It's an island kingdom that was completely scorched when a house sized Solarin gateway was opened at the castle in the center. Branhield Scarrvender did that, by herself, when she was five.

She was a very naturally skilled Solarin mage even before that, so when the rage took over and holding back was no longer an option, she literally went nuclear. She had a very traumatic childhood :p
