I know what you're thinking, "But Jam, didn't you just post this a few weeks ago?" Yes, well sorta. You see, the story down below was based on a rough sketch by my buddy Dez-A-Sketch (https://www.deviantart.com/dez-a-sketch) did a few years ago for his Patreon. Recently, my other good friend AlanZX (https://twitter.com/ALANExtraZone?t.....AW99Q&s=09) asked me if I wanted anything colored, and my mind instantly went to this sketch. So here it is, lines by Dez, coloring and shading by AlanZX, and story by me. Awesome work all around! Story:
It was a sunny day on Angel Island, something that wasn't too uncommon on the floating landmass. The brilliant rays of sunlight shone down upon a stony temple, bathing the rocks in its glorious light. Seated within the temple was a massive green gem, otherwise known as the "Master Emerald".
The Master Emerald was an artifact of great power, one which was guarded by a brawny red echidna named "Knuckles". The echidna was currently sleeping beside the rock, snoring as he did so. The echidna was roughly 4 feet tall and wearing a pair of red-and-yellow shoes. His body was mostly covered in red fur, while a crest of white fur adorned his chest. He had thin noodle-like arms, which were connected to a big pair of meaty echidna hands.
His hands were kept hidden under a pair of white-colored boxing gloves. Jutting out from beneath the gloves were two pairs of pointy claws, one set for each hand. Knuckles continued to snore as his tan-colored snout wiggled around.
Unbeknownst to Knuckles, a mischievous thief had entered the vicinity. She climbed the stairs of the temple quietly and effortlessly, despite being clad in a pair of high-heeled boots. She eagerly flicked her pointy white ears as she sauntered towards her target.
Upon reaching the slumbering echidna, the thief reached into her plentiful cleavage. After digging around for a bit, she pulled out a green emerald. This was none other than a Chaos Emerald, another mythical artifact. The bat held the green stone in her gloved hands, while moving it closer to the echidna. Once the stone was within range of him, it began to glow.
Knuckles opened his eyes just in time to be overwhelmed by an intense green light. It knocked him unconscious once more, just as he heard a familiar voice laughing at him, "Enjoy your second snooze, ‘Rouge’!”
Knuckles woke up several hours later. His eyelids felt odd as he opened them, as if they were caked with something. On top of this, it felt like he was wearing clothes, which surprised him as he was normally naked. He looked down and found that not only was he wearing clothes, but he was also wearing a different body as well! His body was slender and feminine, with wide hips and large breasts. It was clear to the former echidna that he was now a she!
Situated along her curvy body was a skin-tight outfit, complete with black pants and white boots. At the bottom of each boot was a pink heart symbol. Her top was also shaped like a pink heart, which was short enough to show off a fair amount of her sizable cleavage. She had long ears, a pointy tail, and a pair of long bat ears. Her rough and very red echidna fur had been replaced with the soft and luxurious white fur of a bat. A pair of long satiny white gloves covered most of her arms.
Her eyes were caked with blue eyeliner, while her lips were covered with pink lipstick. Knuckles may not be the smartest person around, but even she knew that Rouge had run off with her body! She was now stuck in the bat’s sexy and delicate body. Knuckles wasn’t much for sexy bodies though, she preferred a body that looked cool and strong! About the only thing of Knuckles’ old body that remained was her sharp and pointy teeth, which she angrily ground together as she assessed the situation.
Just then, fear gripped Knuckles’ new body. She turned and found that the Master Emerald had been stolen! The Master Emerald was the only thing keeping Angel Island floating in the sky. Without the emerald, the island would plummet into the ocean below in just a few days! Knuckles knew she had to stop this and get her body back.
She then attempted to stand up, which was a tall order for the feminine bat. Her legs shook awkwardly as she stood up. This was made even harder by the fact that she was now wearing bulky footwear! Knuckles’ balance was thrown off by her high-heeled boots, which were made even more aggravating by the large size of her breasts.
Knuckles eventually lost balance, landing on her stomach with a loud thud. Her big and bouncy breasts were pressed against the dirt as she impacted the ground. She let out a yelp of pain as her body hit pavement. As soon as she impacted the ground, her anger reached its peak. Her large fangs were pressed against the pavement; her fat ass sticking up in the air as she laid on the ground.
“She planned this...” Said Knuckles as her anger continued to boil. Knuckles got up on her hands and knees and looked back at her boots, “How does she walk like this? More importantly, how will I get the Master Emerald back now?”
Moving around in Rouge’s body proved to be difficult and Knuckles was about ready to give up. Both his body and the Master Emerald had been stolen, he was stuck in a body that he wasn’t used to, and Rouge had escaped to some unknown location! Knuckles was no longer the last surviving member of the fabled “Echidna Tribe”, he was now just a busty batty thief.
That’s when a realization hit Knuckles, “That’s right, I’m not an Echidna Tribe member while in this body!” She realized that if she wanted to gain control of this body and get her old one back, she would have to think and move like Rouge. She would have to reach deep inside and embrace her inner bat. Just as Knuckles regained her composure, she noticed a green chaos emerald on the ground in front of her. She quickly realized that the emerald was what Rouge used to swap with her and snatched it from its resting place, while baring a confident grin on her face.
Knuckles hobbled to her feet once more, her curvy legs shaking as she did so. She took a deep breath and took a single step, while making sure to carefully balance her weight as she walked. She did the same with the other foot and continued to alternate walking with each foot.
It took several hours, but Knuckles managed to master not only moving in Rouge’s body, but also walking in high-heels! After mastering walking in Rouge’s body, Knuckles decided she had to take the next big step. She arched her head around and looked at the pair of large bat wings attached to her back. Knuckles gulped as she realized that the only way she was getting off this island was to fly! While Knuckles was a master glider, flying was something she had never done before.
She began to flap her wings slowly, which lifted her off of the ground. However, she had problems controlling both wings at once and ended up face-planting on the ground once more! Knuckles practiced with her new wings and eventually managed to get airborne. However, flying was still new to her and she found her trajectory was off. She kept spinning around in mid-air randomly, or losing altitude at certain points. Despite her shaky flying, it got the job done. Knuckles managed to take off from Angel Island and towards her planned destination: Rouge’s house! After all, where else was Rouge gonna put a giant emerald?
Meanwhile, Rouge was running towards his house at lightning speeds with the Master Emerald clutched firmly in his gloved hands. Rouge chuckled to himself at his theft, “Not only did I steal the body of a hot stud of an echidna, but I also managed to pilfer the most potentially precious prize in the world! Truly, I am the greatest thief!” Once he reached his house, he placed the oversized emerald on the ground and stared at his reflection in the shimmering green surface of the gem.
Knuckles’ red fur and gorgeous snout was now all his! He had the Echidna’s strength and body, along with all of the “accoutrements” that comes along with it! Best of all, he didn’t have to wear clothes anymore. Now he could walk around naked whenever he wanted without Sega getting mad at him! After admiring his new reflection, the Echidna once again exerted his super strength and effortlessly picked up the emerald. He brought it over to his garage, only to come to a stark realization: It was too big to fit in there!
Rouge looked at the emerald and then back at the garage, “Hm... Looks like I’ll need a better hiding place for this big ol’ rock! After all, I can’t risk someone taking my big shiny bauble,” Rouge said with a grin. Just then, his fine-tuned echidna ears picked up on the sound of beating bat wings. Rouge looked up and saw Knuckles off in the distance, her wings flapping around awkwardly as she desperately tried to keep herself stationary in mid-air.
Rouge giggled to himself. “Awwww, looks like the former echidna learned how to fly! I better get going before I lose my new prizes!” Exclaimed Rouge as he grabbed the Master Emerald and started running. Knuckles spotted him off in the distance and then looked down at the Chaos Emerald clutched in her gloved bat hand, “Just you wait, Rouge! I’m taking back both my body AND the Master Emerald!” Knuckles knew that she just had to get her body back, or the spirits of her ancestors would hate her guts until the end of time!
Knuckles flew after Rouge, the fleet-footed Echidna giving the bat a run for her money! Despite Rouge not being fully used to his new body yet, he was able to maneuver in it quite well. Knuckles had a hard time keeping up with what used to be her body. Every time she got close, Rouge would dash just out of reach.
Knuckles was getting tired, she wasn’t used to her new wings! Rouge stuck his tongue out at him, “Better earn those frequent flyer miles, Knuckles, you’ll be needing them when you spend the rest of your life as a bat!”
“Get back here, Rouge!”
“Why would I do that? I have the advantage here, and nothing can slow me down!”
What Rouge said echoed through Knuckles mind, specifically the words “nothing can slow me down”! This gave her an idea, prompting the bat to smile, “True, I can’t slow you down, but I know what can: The Knuckles Rap!”
As soon as Knuckles said that, Rouge’s ears were struck by a random song out of nowhere:
"Here I come, rougher than the rest of them! The best of them, tougher than leather!
You can call me Knuckles, unlike Sonic I don’t chuckle! I’d rather flex my muscles!"
The musical bombardment assaulted Rouge’s ears, causing him to drop the Master Emerald. He held his ears with his gloves hands as he rolled around on the ground in pain, “Make it stop! It’s so cheesy and dumb, along with being a rap song by a bland and forgettable rapper!”
Knuckles smirked and landed next to the echidna, “Ready to give me my body back?”
Rouge continued to writhe around the ground in pain, “Yes, just make this stupid song stop!”
Knuckles winked, “Actually, only you can do that! You have to chuckle to turn the song off,”
Rouge narrowed her eyes at the bat, “Seriously? Fine!”
Rouge gave a hardy chuckle, causing the music to cease. His ears now free from the incessant music, he stood up, “Wait, why did chuckling end it?!”
Knuckles smirked and put her hand on her former shoulder, “It’s because that’s the rap song they made for me in the 90s. It’s summoned when someone mentions it to me, and the only way to stop it is for me to contradict the song by chuckling,”
“Oh, so that’s why the song doesn’t show up in modern games, because you started chuckling more!”
“Yep! Now, mind giving me my body and the Master Emerald back?” Asked Knuckles as he held up the Chaos Emerald.
Rouge rolled her eyes, “Fine!”
Rouge touched the Chaos Emerald as Knuckles held it up, causing the two to swap back. Knuckles smiled as he pumped his fists, happy to be a male Echidna once more, “Good to be me again!”
Rouge grumbled and crossed her arms, “Yeah, fantastic!”
Knuckles glared at her, “Why were you trying to steal my body anyways? And why did you grab the Master Emerald too? I thought you gave that up!”
Rouge gave a soft sigh as she looked the Echidna in the eyes, “Well, my livestreams aren’t doing too hot right now. As it turns out, being a titty streamer will only get you so far. My plan was to steal your body and use the Master Emerald as my background to liven up the streams!”
“You know, if you wanted me and the Master Emerald to show up on your streams, you could’ve just asked!”
The bat scoffed “Yeah right, you’re an introvert! As if you’d ever show up on my livestreams or let me use your precious Emerald as a backdrop!”
Knuckles smirked and held up the Master Emerald, “You’d be surprised!”
“Wait, seriously?! You’d do a livestream with me?!”
“Yes, under one condition: You never steal my body or the Master Emerald again,”
“Well I can’t promise that first thing, but I can promise the second one,”
Knuckles shrugged his shoulders, “That’s fine, I guess. Anyway, let’s do your stream quick, before Angel Island crashes to the ground!”
“Wouldn’t that take a day or two to happen?”
“Yeah, but it’s better to be safe than sorry,”
And with that, Knuckles and Rouge went off to film their joint livestream. It was difficult for Knuckles, due to being quite camera shy. That and he had to sit next to a scantily-clad Rouge the entire time, making things more awkward for the echidna. Still, he was glad he got his body and the Master Emerald back. Of course, this wouldn’t be the last time Rouge would try to steal his body...
