Who wanted to see some Sonic universe funtimes! It was quite interesting during the research for this peice looking at how the art style of the comics and the design of the Dingos changed over the years. Hope you like some of them being nabbed up for work after trying to conquer the wrong group :>
So many had gone missing. But most importantly he had gone missing. Lost to the forest and those damned tribal Echidnas. As a proud soldier of the Regime he was not supposed to let personal feelings get in the way of the mission. It had been anger before Beta had gone to sort out the situation. Anger that brave soldiers had gone missing to who knows what terrible fate. And anger was good, that got results and resolve out of troops looking for revenge. Eager to go out and right the wrong that had been given the Regime. But now it was replaced by worry. And that wasn’t what was needed. He couldn’t help it though. Neither could the rest of Charlie Squad. All of them had initially been outraged when one patrol had gone missing. But that had been replaced with worry when two more had gone. Then full blown panic when three more had gone. So here they were. Renamed Charlie to help sell the illusion that it had only been two squads that had gone missing. But rather than marching forward with purpose the five Dingo squad were trying not to step on any twig or disturb any bush. Lest the tribals find them. But they had likely already been seen, and it was only a matter of time. Rifles held tightly as they tried to keep their eyes open.
It didn’t help that this newly christened Charlie squad was not the best that had been sent out third but still gone missing. It had been the recruits who had been too slow to get out of General Strykers view when he ordered another incursion into the forest. Raw recruits who were letting the fear take hold of them before they were even too deep. Thacker wasn’t doing much better on the fear front. But his mind was still too distracted by thoughts of Beta.
While against the strict regulations set down by Stryker the soldiers had been sleeping about with others. But with moral flagging even before the disappearances Thacker had just not reported it. The entire operation had been a sham so far and disallowed bonding would make the desire to desert even more prolific. So some beds had been empty and others doubled up. Friendships and companionship that made them want to stay. To keep their chosen partner safe. But Beta....he hadn't put the offer to him before. Always had his bed to only himself. Anger came back when he heard that Beta had gone missing. But only at himself. For never asking and perhaps now never getting the chance. His own fear at being prosecuted by the rules and being turned down maybe shutting that door for him forever. Maybe Beta was still alive somewhere but hope after a week and a half was lacking with so many extra going missing. And likely Charlie would be added to that list soon. Thacker barely able to bring himself to keep walking forward at this point. Self doubt filling his limbs with lead to drag him to the earth. But the trooper bumping into his back jolted him forward.
He was the Captain of these troops. He needed to not let them down too.
The squad was far too distracted and scared at this point to see the spines and spears watching from where they had come from, crouching on branches and passing along silent messages to close the trap.
It started with manic screaming and flashes of red from the trees. The Dingos of Charlie barely able to grab the weapons from their slings and start to reach for the safeties before spears were at their backs and chests. A shameful display.
Thacker barely even responded really as they were surrounded. It had happened to so many Dingos before it was no shock the tribals were this organized. So when an orange thickly built Echidna stepped out of the greater forest with a smirk on his face and a wave of his spear the carbine was already falling from his paws.
“Drop the weapons, Dingos! Or die!” It was a simple response really, surrounded as they were. Thacker looking back and nodded at the two that still tried to hold their weapons.
“It's ok...do as they say.” The weapons quickly snatched up by busy paws as spears were kept on the group. He felt bad for his squad. Their mission had already failed. More Dingos lost to the tribals as they were likely going to be killed. Perhaps they would make it long and painful. Glancing over as the orange leader moved with spear over his shoulder and still with that smirk. Thacker closing his eyes and sighing as he prepared for death. For whatever glory of the Regime he could muster he held himself tall and waited. At least he could try to give his troops hopefully a better chance at living if he laid down his own life.
But then his hat was removed.
One eye opening and then the other as the Oranges’ hands pulled down on his tie to loosen it and then remove it from around his neck. The top buttons of his shirt next touched before Thacker finally found his voice again. “What are you doing Tribal?” He sputters out as more buttons are undone. But the spear at his back kept him from acting. This tribal was too skilled at this. Doing it almost effortlessly. More and more buttons undone as Orange happily responded.
“You have pride in this uniform. It gives you a symbol to rally too and a cause you belong too. So they are being removed to strip you off that. To show you that really you are nothing besides invaders who have so little power.” The shirt now undone as Thacker was twitching in rage. “To humiliate you, if the other concepts were too much for your little mind. You will march to our village in just your little white garments under the pants.”
Despite the spear Thacker could see his troops out of the corner of his eyes being reached at by other Echidnas for their clothing as well. They didn’t deserve that! So he made to move forward - to strike. Before he was suddenly much taller than Orange? Boots dangling over the forest floor as Orange just shook his head as the very tall Echidna warrior that was holding Thacker off the ground just grunted. But it was a high pitched grunt. And with Thacker looking back at her holding him like some toy she could see it was female. And she was huge.
“We are not monsters like your Regime is. Or what they portray us as. But there must be consequences for your invasion into our lands. Humiliation will be a good first step.”
“And then what,” Thack questioned as he dangled above the earth. “You’ve taken six squads already and they have not returned. What are you doing to them?!” His growls of annoyance were replaced by squeaks of dismay as his boots were being unlaced! But the strong grip in the back of his neck stopped him kicking out at Orange as the apparent leader responded.
“Oh the March to our camp is only the first step. After then the alliances of our tribes will be further strengthened by auctioning you all off at market. To the other tribes as slaves. To keep us united against your pitiful regime.” Pop! Off came one boot as the other began to be unlaced. Thack just staring down at the leader. Fear filling up his mind again. He was thankful he was held not facing his troops so they couldn’t see he was terrified. The Regime has rules for the troops to keep strength and unity. Becoming a prisoner was frowned upon but could be used to infiltrate to save a soldier or gather intel. It could have a use. Losing your uniform was disrespectful but could be replaced after a reprimand. But becoming a slave...that was no longer being a soldier. Being weak. Being worthless in the eyes of the Regime.
The boots and socks now fully off Thack is set back down on the ground on his beans. Orange sticking the butt of his spear into the ground as he went to work on Thacks belt. The squad leader barely noticing what was going on anymore as he mulled over what was said. That meant that some of the Dingos likely still lived. Could they band together when less eyes and spears were on them? Try to break through the lines and get back to the Regime base? But he was yanked from his planning as his stomach was whacked with the end of the belt as it was pulled from his pants. He seemed to finally come around to what was happening again as he reached for Orange - before there was a firm squeeze from the huge female on his shoulder and a low growl again. Just making sure he knew there would be no stopping this. The main button on his pants undone as Thack took a breath and tried to stand tall again. Proud despite his honor literally being stripped away from him second by second. For his troops. But Orange was making it quite difficult as he pulled down the fly of his jeans with an audible zwip before patting Thackers waist.
“You are quite the strong one aren’t you?” Sliding his finger around the front of his waist before gripping the waistband of the pants and pulling them apart. Letting them slowly start to fall before Thackers tail stopped it. But with him still trying to act proud it was easy for Orange to reach around and give that tail some approving pat pats before tilting it downward to let the pants fall the rest of the way off. Thackers facade of nobility falling with his pants as they were now just a heap around his feet. A yelp coming from his muzzle as his de-pantsed rump was patting by Orange before the Echnida stood up and stretched from his little extended crouch. And with Thack mostly dumbstruck with the situation, Orange nodded at the other Dingos who were huddling together still clothed.
“Come on you lot, uniforms off too or we will do it for you.” The four recruits looking around at the grim faced tribals with spears ready. There was little choice really. It was going to happen regardless. So the ties and shirts were quickly removed and folded - set in a little pile before they sat down and started to undo their boots. Before one of then ventures to ask.
“All of it? Or can we keep on our pants?” The big Echidna who had formally lifted up their captain heading over. “I...it's cold after all,” the recruits' ears folding back as his voice petered out as the big warrior crouched down and set one of her large hand on his shoulder. Just giving him a knowing smile - letting him know that such questions were rather silly. Three of the remaining four started to unclip their belts and pull down their pants but one was still sitting defiant. Toe beans wriggling as he glanced around at the Tribals surrounding him. Before he foolishly tried to hop up and make a run for it. He got maybe three steps before the lifter of Dingos grabbed him too. Feet stilling running under him like a cartoon before he seemed to realize that he wasn't going anywhere. Given a firm shake to help calm him down and let him know who the bosses were, the large lady Echidna hummed to herself as she quickly removed the Dingos belt and let his pants fall before placing him back down with the others.
One of the tribals stepping forward on Oranges’ nod to scoop up the fallen clothing into a bag. Ties in the bottom first followed by the shirts, belts, and finally the pants. The hats set in last so as not to crush them too badly before it was tied up securely. The female chuckling as she hefted one of the pairs of pants. “Good material here. I can get some good tents or bags out of these.” Waving at the Dingos. “Not like you lot will be needing them much anymore.” She cooed, starting to step back to the main throng of tribals around before she stopped, reaching out with her stick to prod at the underwear of the Dingos. “What about these Suzerain? These are items of the Regime, why do we not take these from them too? To complete the humiliation?” The stick sliding into the waistband of one of the recruits and pulling it back before letting it go to snap for a yelp from the wearer.
“No, they can keep those. Their culture is different and even they have rules on civility and modesty. We will leave them with the final layer of that. So they remember what they are leaving behind.” Now next to Thacker again as he used his free hands to start to rub and feel up the former Captain. Thacker once again attempting to stand proud but it was barely even a performance now. Not helping by the subtle murmerings of giggles as those paws rubbed over him. Ticklish a smidge he seemed to be! Orange starting at his shoulders as Thacker squirmed under his rubbing. Moving around his shoulders before down to his triceps. “Oh yes, quite the strong one.” Sliding around to the front of his arm and feeling the tense biceps as Thacker tried both not to laugh and not to snap out at Orange for being treated like some work animal. “You will do great work for us.” The hands sliding back up his arms to his shoulders before down his chest. Curving around the underside of his pecs as Thack had to bite his lip to keep from laughing. But he couldn’t stop a muffled herfngl giggle sneaking out as his stomach was patted and rubbed. “A real military career Dingo. Now all for our uses” He thankfully left the butt alone as hed already patted that before the large female squeezed again to make him lower his arms as Orange crouched down to slide his paws up and down Thackers legs.
Giggles not the only thing trying to escape from Thacker as he couldn’t deny the rubs and pets felt very nice. And it was worse as that damn Orange was right at the level of his waist to see the excitement growing in those briefs. Thack doing his best to bite his lip and stop himself from giving away how he was feeling about this. But Orange seemed too busy investigating his muscles - thank god. Squeezing the plump thighs and prodding the firm calves before patting the tops of those footpaws. “Very good. Very good.” Before back on his feet and smiling at the red face of the dingo even past his fur.
Finally stepping back and turning Oranged motioned for the others to nudge the Dingos along as the tribe prepared to move out. “Our punishment is not overly cruel, and is more than justified for what their Regime has done. But to overly punish the individual soldier would just be petty. Especially when they will be working for us. So they keep their undergarments for now.” The Dingos pulled up to stand before several Echidna warriors moved in with rope and swiftly bound the recruits wrists together and then a light wrapping around their snouts. Not enough to cause any issues breathing but it would stop any proper talking. Any planning. Orange taking greate pleasure in Thackers growls as he bound him up himself before patting the Dingos cheek. Before into the forest and away from any possible allies of theirs that would help them. The Echidna’s going mainly silent besides occasional chats that were far too quiet from the wolves to hear over the marching.
Thacker could guess this was to make them worried and panic. And not look for an opening to try and escape. It was working. And he hated it. He hated these tribals and how the big grabber was just behind them waiting for one to try and break for it. It was almost as if they wanted them to try and escape so they could be reminded how trapped they were. How they were likely going to be slaves or worse.
“Slaves or worse, thats whats going through your head isn’t it?” Orange Crooned as he walked backwards just ahead of the captured soldiers. “Worrying about even more honor being lost if the worst should happen. If we do decide to kill you.” He spread his arms. “After all, we may not need all of you as slaves.” The recruits tensing up as the runner from before looked set to try something, again. “That would bring even more dishonor onto you, wouldn't it? Dying out of your precious uniform.” Thack tensing up with the recruits as he glared at Orange. How did he know that? Where would he have learnt that about the Regime? The runner quickly trying to bolt out of the group! But the large Echidna was on hand and very much ready for this as she reached out and wrapped an arm around that stomach. Easily pulling the Dingo back and setting him over her shoulder with an arm over his waist.
“M...mercy!” The runner muffled around the gag out as he squirmed those feet and tail against the grip of the large Echidna. But the biggun just chuckled and patted his back.
“Don’t misbehave anymore and we won’t. But right now you are becoming a bit of a pain.” To emphasise this she reached up and gave that underwear covered butt a good pinch. Making Runner epp! And flail before he calmed down - deciding that it was better to just lay still and not cause another issue. At least he was being carried now.
“You would be fine sacrifices for our gods. Especially you Captain.” Orange taunted as he nodded at Thacker.
Despite the gag, Thacker was able to respond with a strong exhale of breath and an eye roll. Gods and religion, primitive and backwards like the Tribals.
“You’ll learn soon enough how much world views can change Captain.”
The remaining march to the village was uneventful besides the worry and panic from the soldiers as they were left to stew in their own worry. At least they didnt have to worry about being captured anymore since they already were. And slave labor was better than being dead right? Such had been going through each Recruits mind as Thacker kept silent. He had mostly accepted what had befallen them now and was just trying to put on at least some strong face for the Recruits. Perhaps he could try to take the hardest work and spare them the torment. He could at least do that for his troops after failing them as he did. But he would be lying to himself if he was not worried that this was his new future and in the end his death.
The village was pretty well stocked at least with several yurt like tents that despite being spacious could likely be moved around quickly if needed. As well as using the trees as cover for makeshift dwellings. No wonder the Regime had never managed to pinpoint the location of the tribals before. But he stepped back to be closer to his soldiers as Orange blew on a small whistle around his neck and the villagers started to arrive. Eager to see the new Slaves. The mustering was done at a rapid pace as he could hear them already whispering about the ones they wanted. Head high. That was all he could do as Orange waved his spear to quiet the crowd before speaking.
“My brothers and sisters. We have successfully captured more of the evil Regime!” Well obviously, Thacker grunted to himself, they still had eyes even if they were primitive. “But before the bidding, first the spoils!” The sack of clothing and belts were attached to the spear and given a spin before tossed into the crowd. A small Echidna lass tossed up to catch it which caused everyone to cheer as once the bag was open the clothing was passed out one item to a Tribal near the one that had caught it. No fighting or clawing over it.
As this was ongoing the Dingos would be unbound so they could more easily be taken away when they were auctioned off.
“Many valuable items will be made from that Dingos, you did good bringing us that.” Orange informed them quieter before he waved his staff again for quiet. But not before a few of the crowd taunted the former soldiers.
“Poor dogs, did you need this belt?”
“This your shirt puppy?”
“What wide pants! You’ll be a good personal slave you will.”
“Not like any of you will need these anymore after all!” Before they quieted down. Holding spoils and eagerly awaiting for the main event of this little altercation.
“And now these former Regime troops will work as Slaves for us. They will be released in time, and should they perform exceptionally well and not cause problems that time will be sooner than they suspect. Punishment must be served but it must also end. Now, who is in need of a Slave?”
Hands and spears flew up as various different jobs were called out that could use an extra hand. From farmers to weapon crafters to tanners. And one by one three of the recruits were handed off to families or foremen. Only glancing back when they could at Thacker who tried to stand proud as they left...wondering if he would ever see them again. It was soon just himself and the one still gently held over the shoulder of the large Echidna. Who smiled at Orange and patted that booty again.
“Good if I keep this one Suzerain?” Orange just nodded and giving a ‘go ahead’ wave as the biggun happily walked off with her new slave. The Dingo held over those shoulders whimpering as he was rolled into a yurt and followed inside by the gal. A chuckle from her coming out before she shut the door. “Oh quit your whining little cutie. It will be cleaning and weaving for you - been ages since I’ve been able to just relax and sleep. Besides, I doubt you could handle me.” The eyes of the market now turning to Thacker after some chuckles as he tried to stand at attention. Giving his best impression of a strong and noble soldier of the Regime.
“But, my family, this one is for me. But I will be sending him out to help when needed.” There are some awws and mutters about how much of a good worker he looked before Orange waved his spear again. “He will do the job admirably I am sure with his former ally,” Thack perking his ears at that before another voice sounded out. A very familiar voice. Ears quivering as he turned to its source
“Oh that he will. Thacker was always good at following orders.” Another Dingo arriving at the crowd. Thacker barely able to believe his eyes as Beta moved through the crowd in a Burlap tunic and all smiles as he spread out his arms. Thack needing no second bidding as he quickly jogged over to embrace his formally lost close friend. He was alive! A slave like he but alive! Orange continuing to talk as the two embraced.
“Clothing will be found for our new Slave. And in time they like their comrade shall be released. A-,” he started before the voices of the two Dingos started to rise. And he turned to observe the interaction. Ready to intervene is needed.
With the initial shock over Thack had stepped back. He seemed to still be having trouble coming to terms with what was going on as he sputtered out. “Beta! Why are you here dressed like them! Why did you not try to escape and get back to us?!”
With a sigh Beta put a hand on Thackers shoulder. “Thack, what would happen if I had done that? Made it back after being captured and losing my own troops? What would happen to you even now if we both got out.”
“W...we...but…The glory of the Regime...” Thack looking down at the ground between them. “We would be sentenced to death for our failures.” Beta just nods in return and slowly brings Thack back into an embrace.
“Yes, forgot the Regime. You are here now with me. The work will be hard but fair. The Echidnas are not cruel like we were led to believe. And in time we will be able to leave.” A squeeze in the hug. “Together. And unlike the Regime there are no regulations or rules about who you can love.” Thack’s ears quivering again as he looked up at the slightly taller Beta. Who just smiled and nosed his cheek back. “Oh I knew for a while. But was always scared to ask as I could tell you were anxious too. And with Stryker always looking for examples to be made I was scared that the secret would get out. But now it doesn't matter. Here we can start a-new.” Gently turning Thack toward a yurt that seemed to be Oranges, as he was standing next to it and it was larger than the others. He was smiling at the two Slaves as he gestured inside. The two starting to walk as Beta patted Thacks’ shoulder.
“But we don’t need to fully ignore our previous lives Thack, at least not initially. I still maintain a part of it.” Lifting up his tunic to reveal his tighty whiteys as he smirked. “But we can always remove each others - and take up our new lives together. A new life with a rough start but then just us. Free to live how we like. With an extra body to hold as well.” Orange smiling and winking at Beta who winked back before they arrived at the threshold. Thack didn’t seem to really notice it as he was focused on Beta and overall comprehension. But Beta was sure hed come around to a more open relationship soon.
Thack seemed to be having a lot of trouble taking this in. But just as they both ducked under the awning of the yurt he took advantage of the crouched position of the two of them to plant a kiss on Betas muzzle and smile. Orange ducking in right behind and helping both inside by cupping a paw around both strong rumps and gently pushing them inside. Maybe a fresh start could work out for them. Together.
Back in the Regime itself the noted General Stryker was furious. Another patrol gone! And still no info on the whereabouts of these tribals! They were snatching his highly trained and vicious soldiers right out from under him without reprisals! Turning to his assistant Gerbil he roared at the smaller male; “Anything?! Was there anything left behind for us to use to find them?! Or at least outfit new recruits with?”
Gerbil shaking his head and before he could even clarify that there was nothing Stryker was shouting again and storming around the office. Which Gerbil took as a good sign that it was time to leave. Quickly. Sliding out off the office and rubbing his face as he closed the door on the rage. The General hadn't even asked for the names of those who had gone missing. He didn’t care about them besides the fact they had failed and their equipment was now in the hands of the Echidnas. Every day Strykers actions worried him more and more. But he couldn’t leave despite wanting too. And news of this would surely spread when those who know those on Charlie squad never came back. And panic and fear would spread that they would be the next ones captured by the Tribals.
And what a terrible fate that would be.
