10 year anniversary of me being in the community
3 years ago
Wow, where has time gone? So I'm just gonna give a good run down of the years of me being in the fandom, and as well as my current attitudes and feelings toward the fandom nowadays.
Firstly, wow. I look back when I first started, I was sooo edgy. Nowadays, Chase is a cute friendly derg lizzy. So here's the timeline:
2011 - stereotypical furry, with the whole 'like and share if YOUR a furry'. I was a noob obviously. Still did not find myself in the fandom. So Chase was soooooooo edgy.
2012 - still stereotypical, but ended up starting to find truths of the fandom when I attended my first convention, Anthrocon. They were just very crazy. But this was a pretty bad year IRL for me because I was overweight, depressed, and had a lot of issues. I still ended up starting to go to furmeet this year.
2013 - started coming out with my interest in contortion/flexibility. Also started to make other characters and other accounts (discretely)
2014 - I was starting to find out truths of the fandom, and honestly they weren't good. So with that, I stopped going to furmeets, but still attended Anthrocon. But this year I find that I was definitely getting better at my art.
2015 - I knew about the truths, but I just kept to myself and did my own thing throughout this year.
2016 - furmeets are definitely a thing of the past for me. Probably with me getting older and all. And this is when things started making a turn for the worse between me and the fandom. It's basically the year of the birth of the SJW and the million gender theory, and stuff that I do not agree with.
2017 - first year where I didn't do anything remotely "furry". And the first year where I did not go to any furmeets or anthrocon.
2018 - I was sooooooo disgusted with the fandom that I returned to my edgy side and starting writing songs about butchering furries
2019 - I slowed down and took it easy now with furries, but I still had disgusts with them.
2020 - when things just put the nail in the coffin between me and the fandom. My already deteriorating feelings I already had with the fandom just went *woosh* took a big huge Kingda Ka (rollercoaster) downhill. Probably due to covid revealing a lot of stuff.
2021- I still like the stuff in the fandom such as the content and such, but I'm just not affiliating myself with the majority of the fandom now. However a good thing did happen this year. I quit my edginess and got into the cute, boopy snooty stuff and started loving one another more.
