Bondsmates is a group page meant to help display on profiles your support or recognition of Bondsmates. Whether that is showing your support for Bondsmates, or in helping to show who your Bondsmates are!

What is a Bondsmate? A Bondsmate is a term I coined when trying to define a relationship I had that was more intimate and loving than what I could typically call a friendship but was not someone who I could see as being in a relationship with. A lot of furries often times use a "Master" and "Pet" term for this, however with that it always felt like there was a connotation of hierarchy, and it was always something I had felt uncomfortable with. So I came up with a new term I felt better represented what I felt was right; a different kind of relationship. It was more than just a friendship, but for whatever the reason, whether it was because of long-distance, or some other difficulty, isn't someone who you feel can be securely attached with. It is not a replacement for "Friends with Benefits" either, as a bondsmate usually also has some connotation of romantic interest to it, where FWB is more for just casual sex. Later, I would discover that a lot of what I was already feeling was already terminology used in typical CNM (Consensual Non-Monogamy/
Polyamorous) relationships as a Satelite, Comet, or Casual. At least that was what I interpreted while reading terminology from a little lovely book called PolySecure.
With that validation, I decided on creating this page, to help give Bondsmates more visibility, and to allow others the opportunity to show their Bondsmates on their own profile pages.
Also as a reminder, even though it shouldn't have to be said. In any form, we do not endorse cheating. And is not how ethical polyamory is practiced.
