Lyrics:
Cosmic havoc in oblivious embrace
To deport this alternation
Arcade of aeons, motion in time
Dissolves in absolution
Conflagration - back to primordial condition
Cosmogenesis - life and death
In ethereal skies, we transcend in eclectic divine
As a glimpse of light, forevermore
In wandering stars, we emerge from light to abyss
As abandoned gods, we redeem in purgatory
Deliverance, a slender form of desolation
In bareness, beyond profound abyss
Perception, a final glimpse of dignity
In radiation of the blackest light
Solo: R. Trujillo
Retrogression, in solitary meditation
In clarity, consigned to infinity
Perpetuity, a constant shattered past
In sempiternal neutrality
Music by Rafael Trujillo & Sebastian Lanser
Lyrics by Steffen Kummerer Видеоклипы
Germany’s progressive death metal masters OBSCURA complete their long-running, four-album conceptual circle with the release of Diluvium (defined as a great oceanic flood), their most evocative, diverse and vibrant release to date. Recorded with longtime producer V. Santura (Triptykon, Pestilence) at Woodshed Studios in Landshut, Germany, Diluvium is a stunning achievement for the illustrious quartet and a landmark release for progressive metal as a whole. Complete with all the band's signature elements plus groundbreaking polyrhythms, dramatic songwriting, and jaw-dropping virtuosity, OBSCURA raise the bar once again with an album that will go down in the annals of metal history as one of the most astonishing performances the genre has to offer.
One of the most incredibly arpeggiated pieces of music I've ever heard. 3:28 - 4:00 Amazing
classical music + jazz + death metal + cosmology = Ethereal skies. very amazing song probably best album this year
I would say classical music inspiration instead of jazz, amazing anyway
This still doesnt beat the new Augury but it could be close.

>metaphysics is pseudoscience
What an idiot.
@@nathanielcrosby2426 Metaphysics is philosophy, not actual science.
@@lashedandscorned dude shut up and listen to the gods music
That SOLO IS A FUCKING EARGASM now those are some incredibly difficult sounding arpeggios
Que fantástico es ver evolucionar el metal...a mis 42 años, obscura me sorprende gratamente cada vez que lanza un nuevo disco...vengan a Chile !!!
this whole song is just beyond satisfying to listen to
This song is amazing, I like so much the changes in Steffen vocals, 2:05 and this part is the one played by Linus father isn't? This album will be epic, can't wait!
For real? Linus' dad plays a part in this song?
Aleks Ulmer Yeah, Linus himself confirm it on his instagram. His father plays the violin in that part (2:05)
The instrumentation on this is just out of this world! Can't wait for this album to drop!
Soy un hombre simple, veo un nuevo video de Obscura y le doy like.
Hay demaciados simplones. xdd
Insane. Never thought such a thing could be translated through music. You guys served it so well. I was expecting a lot of virtuosity but this is an all different level...
Sounding more Cynic than Cynic
That’s what I was thinking too lol, even the clean vocals have autotune like in Cynic’s focus
@@sunbirdocto.8437 Is not auto tune. It's vocoder, its different.
Not really vocoder. It's just vocals filtered through a synth. A Vocoder example would be those weird robot vocals in Planetary Duality by The Faceless
A LOT OF CYNIC HERE!
Symbiotic yep, was listening to focus this morning
Rare, i was thinking in Focus this morning too.
Klaus-Herbert Wachtelhuber same haha
That just describes Obscura in general.
And that's a good thing
I'd like to close my eyes and listen with the attention it deserves, but I can't stop staring at the artwork. So wonderful
Really got some Holdsworth vibes from bits of that solo, definitely topped it off for me. Absolutely killer tune
I thought the same. Got goose bumps when the lead guitarist played Allan Holzworth:)
Raphael did a great job on this one as compared to the first track. This songwriting is brilliant.
Vinay Joshi I totally agree, I was a little disappointed with the first single
... El nice
What time signature should I headbang in? XD
Evil Giggles All of em xD
Yes
Windmill on 9/16 😂😂😂
follow the cymbals
Head bang in 32ths just to be "safe". R.I.P.
Wow.. those leads at 3:40 .. that's some crazy tone and composition
Obscura is one of those bands where I never feel like I listen to them enough. Too technical for gym music.
The future of humanity is bright.
That intro is probably the most inspirational piece of music ive ever heard. Been listening to this regularly since release and still hasnt gotten old. Wish there was more stuff like that.
BRUHHH I cant stop listening to this
I'm so excited for this album
Almost 30 years of listening to metal and im just discovering this tonight.
So much time wasted not listening to them.
This is why you should always check out a band that youve just heard of.
That is one sick solo damn
That was the solo of the year for me. Something so fresh... so remarkable. And still no good cover that fully nailed it.

One of the best Obscura songs, possibly ever, in my opinion. Incredible instrumental flow, vocals, and progression.
That Violin 👌🏻
This one really reached my expectations for this album, the other ones were not bad, but something about the riffs was kinda generic, mainly Dilivium, and I know that this band really has the knowledge and technique to do really brilliant stuff so I was a bit disappointed, but this one is saving my attention to it 👌
Man this album is going to be so good.
3:28 Necrophagist
2:05 ♥
Love the Jazz influence, good job Obscura!
And what is Jazz influence here? lol
Theo Martin If you can't hear it, I'm sorry.
For example like what?
Theo Martin chords progressions, times signatures, structures used.
Chords progressions are totally neoclassical, times signatures are widely used in 20th century classical music.
beautiful! Love the lead work. Best song from the new album (from the current released ones)
There is another one on spotify ;)
Human Apocalypse Thanks for the info, I already checked it out. This one stills my favorite, then Mortification of the Vulgar Sun, then Emergent Evolution and Dilivium at last
What is it called?
Jasper van Minnen Mortification of the Vulgar Sun
they removed though
Perfect!!!
Finally a album that doesn't disappoint me from this year🔥🔥This is my first time listening to obscura and I'm impressed!!!
Jezus...what a BEAST of a solo, and so tasteful
Insanely good!
Holy fuck those time signatures are killer.
Ok.. I'm probably digging this more than the other 2 songs. Sounds good!
Instant love from the moment it started. I can’t fucking wait for this album. Obscura!!!
I had no choice but to press replay ! 3/3 excellents songs so far !
Graxilo Coccus you mean 4/4 there's a 4th one on spotify
I love the atmosphere of the new album so far.
And one of the coolest solos of all time...
Eargasm!! Obscura are in my top 5 favourite band of all time. I simply love they're stile
Not sure I've ever heard a guitar lead as cool as this intro.
Fantastic.....harmony.....beauty.......ganze woche nur das.
The groove from 0:49 on makes me headbang, unpreventable!
My favourite song by Obscura.
Another masterpiece again, And again.
Definitely the strongest so far.
These guys never disappoint ! This album is gonna be sick.
Wow, ihr wollt viel auf dem neuen Album. Schon die dritte unglaubliche Nummer in Folge... stark!!!
At last, i feel like listening to the old obscura...
too good, too good, I don't deserve this
Great song! The vocals are very reminiscent of Textures era Cynic.
It's funny that you refer to Textures since it doesn't have any vocals haha but yes they have totally rolled with the old era Cynic sound ever since Cosmogenesis and it is fucking badass.
I am not a smart man. Meant to say Focus.
we forgive you
Looking to be the best obscura album yet!
We are waiting for you in Romania!
*sees 4 people hit dislike*
*James Franco's voice*
"You don't like art?"
Actually, Those are my neighbors that threw the brick at my window.
No fuck off : )
Album of the year
2:12 remembers me dimmu borgir. But hey, awesome as usual!
X Y Holy crap, it does sound like Dimmu.
I am SUPER pleasantly surprised by Rafael's playing on these new tracks. He might not be on par with Muenzer or Fountainhead when it comes to pure technicality but his playing is really deeply emotive while still retaining that "shred" sensibility. These guys are carrying the torch.
I think Rafael is even more technical musically than Muenzer and fountainhead.
Great guitar work! The beginning reminds me of Dream Theatre. Stoked for this album! \,,/
Christopher Kilgus I felt that DT vibe.
Juan Sierra The track has a progressive feel to it. Seems to be the sound European Death Metal bands are embracing. I hear an Opeth influence going on here as well. Cheers
Beyond Creation and Obscura. Tech death metal albums of the year.
Stephen Kummerer, a teacher
Obsidious - Iconic
Wow, its perfect
I'm here cause a guy made a post on Facebooj "gojira vs Obscura" I had never heard of this band, and I just found another awesome band lol totally different from Gojira but I can kinda understood what he meant
This has everything, classical masterpiece!!!
The album will be one of the best albums this year ! ...
Siiiiick! What a way to start a song
Reminds me of Human era DEATH with more progressive elements. Love it!!
G.Raven I agree. If Chuck was alive I could see Death sounding like this today.
i dont, the feel/atmosphere is completely different
Never been a fan of Obscura but this song is brilliant.
Best album of the decade. Period !
This album will kill for sure
Esta banda valdría la pena escucharlos en vivo
That bass \m/
this is a masterpiece
Hell yeah amazing song from Obscura´s masters
Loved it!!! Maybe my favourite so far. PS: A song from my album is actually called "Ethereal Skies", some time ago i thought it was kind of an "original" name for a tune, and now they come up with this! lol : -)
Shiit maan, this is fire. Been listening to this regularly since release, still not getting bored. So this was composed by Rafael and Sebastian only? Truly a masterpiece, gotta hear more from them.
Dear god i can't wait for this to drop
Holy shit insane intro
Got a real positive Dream Theater vibe of that solo! :O Nice!
This is the best song ive heard all year and thats saying a lot. Its been a great fn year so far!
Very strong Panzerballett thingy in this one. Perfect fit ! 👍
3:23 that latin groove 🖤
Masterpiece 🖤
Grandiosa composición tengo ansias de escucharlo completo
AWESOME! GOGOGOGO ALBUM COME TO US
Good job obscura i love it a waiting for cd kisses from Argentina
Amazing!!
Free form jazz
So many triplets
Oh, yeah! A good one!
Truly masterful
nice scream, i like this, not for the other of this album, this is the best for now
No Grossman. No problem.
No Fountainhead... kind of a problem, but not a big one
True... he is a ultimate drum machine but Sebastian is artist
Fountainhead is only a second guitar player. Not comparable with Kummerer, what founded two band like Obscura and Thulcandra.
Hannes was a more fit drummer, he made me wanna dance. Lanser hasn't got this groove.
Moreover, Hannes is better composer than current line-up. The new tracks haven't any memorable part of the song.
Bartosz Sybilski blah blah blah Sebastian definitely has groove, just not straightforward grooves like Hannes
Album of the year contender?
obviously! :D
CosmoGenesis the new Alkaloid was my extreme metal album of the year.
Let's see what the new Obscura will bring :D
aaayyy mine too :D
rivers of nihil, btbam, or night verses > this
alkaloid, then all of that :P
This is some good shit. Enjoyed every song I've heard from this album.
This is awesome - Sebastian - killin' it!
THAT'S WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!! LOVE U GUYS
Curte atheist, massa
