Commission Guidelines and Rules:
COMMISSION DETAILS
-Send me a note with all of your details! What kind of commission you'd like (Sketch, Colored Sketch, Full Color +rough BG, Full color +full BG), a reference to your character(s), and a brief description of the scene and any applicable references to it (If it's a specific scene/room/environment from a specific intellectual property, I need to know what it looks like). Please be specific with sizes if they are important to the picture! Include a picture reference, or describe it carefully. "as big as you're willing to do" or "really really fat" are not helpful for me, the first is different for me on different days, the second is too vague, please avoid those kinds of descriptions.
-Sketches and Colored Sketches do not include backgrounds beyond a simple scene, gradient, texture, or solid color, there will be an additional price if you want to include a more complicated background in your sketch or colored sketch.
-Whatever you don't tell me, you are giving me free reign with. I try to get the commission as close to what the commissioner wants as possible, but I do feel I can do better compositions when given more creative control. However, if I forget something you mentioned in the description, don't hesitate to tell me, that is my fault.
PAYMENT
-Paid commissions -always- get worked on before unpaid, if you've been on my list for a long while without any update from me, that's probably why, as there were probably a number of other people who have paid while you have not.
-Payment will be required before you receive the finished image. Before that, you will get a sketch of the picture before I go about finishing it up, at which point you can request some changes to be made.
-Exceptionally intricate or detailed characters are subject to a small increase in price! If you are concerned about this, please contact me beforehand to check.
-Reference sheets follow the same pricing as anything else, two full view shots of your character would count as the standard price + an additional character. Busts, heads, and other detail shots (closeup of a piece of jewelry, tattoo, etc) may add to the price.
WILL NOT DO
-No adult commissions, I also won't do scat/drugs/babyfur/etc, those kinds of things. If you are wondering about what I will and will not do, please send me a note asking beforehand!
-I generally won't do private commissions except in specific non-permanent cases (such as a birthday gift for someone where you don't want them seeing it ahead of time), or unless you pay extra to keep it private.
Anything else not covered here that you are curious about, feel free to send me a note asking about! It's better to ask than assume! :)

I really try to put a lot of effort into them, and they're a fair bit higher resolution than the others (typically about 4x the size of the submitted version)

For me, there's only one question:
Should I have you draw a 'sona from my much-loved Halo or should I go with my recent discovery Mass Effect? (I know, I'm a bit behind in the times, but hey, whatever's cheaper.)
I'll contact you in the future when I'm ready for the comish. Right now, mostly waiting on a couple artists I commissioned.

Most often, I approach a friend and offer to do something for them if they want!
Other times, somebody is writing an awesome story and I offer to illustrate a part of it I like.
Occasionally I've done auctions.
I don't really have a set "way" that special offer commissions work, they are just things that happen sometimes, and I phrase it like that to encompass all the possibilities.

I can go from sketch to colored sketch or from sketch to full color, but I would not do sketch to colored sketch to full color without adding some to the price, the process of coloring a colored sketch is different from the process of going from a sketch to full color, so going from colored sketch to full color is more difficult.
That said, and in reply to your note, I'm afraid I'm not open for commissions right now, sorry!

Too late now, but I was thinking of reserving a spot for Shalion for the commission he originally wanted from Meanybeany for his "Evolution" story, which if his original description is correct is of two (v. fat) dogs fighting for dominance, with a bunch more standing a way off, who would basically be silhouettes in the sketch version.
